Backstory[]
Night Fright was the last surviving operative of the legendary Vietnamese guerrilla squad The Whispers. Armed with his silenced sub-machine gun, Night Fright was infamous for his renowned assassination skills and stealth camouflage, rendering him almost always invisible and unseen by his enemies. He was thought to be even more skilled in the jungle than the Green Berets, and as no one knew what he really looked like, he became known as the Phantom Assassin.
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake[]
Night Fright went onto join Zanzibar Land, and during the Zanzibar Land Disturbance was sent to assassinate the veteran FOXHOUND agent Solid Snake. In the detention camp's basement, Night Fright had the upper hand thanks to his invisibility, and Snake only discovered his presence due to a warning from his anonymous "fan". Snake's adviser, George Kasler knew of Night Fright only through reputation, and honestly believed that he was doomed. However, on the advice of his "fan", Snake used his heightened sense of hearing to find and kill his stealthy opponent.
