Nightmare Huggy Wuggy is a minor antagonist of Chapter 3: Deep Sleep of the 2021 indie horror game Poppy Playtime. He is an illusionary (and more deformed) version of the original Huggy Wuggy made by CatNap's Red Smoke who appears to haunt and chase the protagonist in the Home Sweet Home area.
Biography[]
He appears in the Home Sweet Home area as a deformed and hideous version of his original counterpart, conjured up as a digital hallucination caused by CatNap's gas. While the Intruder is watching a VHS tape in a television, Nightmare Huggy emerges from the screen to pursue the player. Huggy chases the player down a hallway which leads to a dead end, thus there is no way to escape him. He jump scares the player, and the player wakes up in a different room.
Appearance[]
Nightmare Huggy shares many of the same features as his original counterpart, but with some disturbing alterations. His yellow hands and feet are larger and more human-like, with long fingers and toes, his fur is a darker shade, his mouth has a lot more teeth, which are longer and thinner, his eyes are pitch black and soulless, and the tops of his head look more curved and pointy, similar to a devil's horns.

- Early renderings of Nightmare Huggy depict him with rubbery and loose skin, rather than with fur like his real counterpart.
- Similarly to CatNap's jumpscare when he steals the player's Gas Mask, Nightmare Huggy's jumpscare is unavoidable.
