The Nightmare Monsters are a species of demons/monsters that lives in the dark and that wants to get fun attacking human people there, their most notorious member is the Boogie Man. They are the main antagonists of the episode "Boogie Frights".
Biography[]
This species of monsters are known for living under children's beds and attacking them, since at the beginning of the episode Buttercup tells this story to Blossom and Bubbles to scare them. However, their only weakpoint is thet if they are exposed to any type of lights, they will be disintegrated, especially the Sun light, something that something that has greatly limited their activity. During the time that they can't attack people, they spend time in the abandoned roller rink Starlight Rollerway, having parties with the theme 1970's-era, which most of this monsters enjoys it.
However, their situation changes when their leader, the Boogie Man, devises a master plan to erradicate all the lights in the town and take over it. For step one, he builds a special disco ball in the roller rink while he sends his minion, Scissors, to the power plant. After this, the Boogie Man, tells to the monsters about this plan and begins step two, where scissors cuts the power in the city, giving all the monsters free rein to invade Townsville. The monsters go to scare people and take the streets and buildings as their own bars and dance floors. The Boogie Man arrives just at the end of the night. When the sun begins to rise, the monsters are scared, but the Boogie Man turns on the step three, he launch from the Starlight Rollerway the giant disco ball and blocks the sun, stopping the last impediment to thir reign of terror and giving to the city a darker and shining view, like in a disco party. Monster become more euphoric and increments their attack to the humans, now attacking directly people with more aggressiveness.
This alerts the Powerpuff Girls and comes there, several monsters tries to fight them and they manage to get them in trouble due their numerical superiority. However, the girls learns about the giant disco ball and, despite the efforts of the Boogie Man to stop them, they destroy it. Managing to return the sun light to the town and pulverizing all the monsters.
