Nikki first met Johnny Rose in high school, and they began a shoplifting spree. They were caught and Nikki testified against Johnny, but they later rekindled their relationship after he got out of jail. They began robbing people in the hope of getting enough money to go to Bermuda together.
Dexter[]
Johnny and Nikki are first mentioned in "Living the Dream", when one of their victims is shot and killed during a robbery. This gives them a reputation as "The Vacation Murderers".
They later rob and kill another man, Rad Faruche. During their escape Johnny cuts himself on an ornamental cactus. Dexter Morgan finds Johnny's blood during the MMPD investigation, using it to identify Johnny. An examination of Johnny's past leads the MMPD to suspect Nikki is his accomplice.
Sergeant Angel Batista and Lieutenant Maria LaGuerta go to Nikki's house to interview her. As they arrive, Nikki and Johnny get back from grocery shopping. They fire at the officers until they are eventually able to escape in Nikki's car.
After Detective Debra Morgan and retired FBI agent Frank Lundy are shot, Lundy fatally, the Vacation Murderers are the main suspects in the case. In order to get Nikki to turn Johnny in again, Batista tells reporter Christine Hill that Johnny's blood sample shows he has syphilis, and that he likely got it by sleeping with prostitutes. This doesn't work as planned however, as upon seeing the story Nikki, while high on meth, goes out of her mind and shoots Johnny dead for cheating on her.
After the body is found, Nikki is cornered outside a liquor store. The cops are unable to get close to her without risking being shot, so instead they listen to her ranting to an imaginary Johnny about how they were going to go to Bermuda but he ruined it. While she's distracted, Detective Joey Quinn is able to use a taser on her from behind and take her into custody.
Nikki is interrogated about her crimes, admitting to everything except shooting Lundy and Debra. Angry, Debra confronts her in her cell and demands she confess, but she continues to insist she had nothing to do with it. Eventually Nikki is able to convince Debra she didn't shoot her (it's later revealed that it was Christine, who killed Lundy to protect her father). Nikki is then imprisoned for the Vacation robberies and murders.
