Niklas Svensson is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Mathilde Nielsen) of the second season of the Danish-Swedish crime drama Bron/Broen. He is a eco-terrorist and pollution criminal trying to spread the plague across Denmark and Sweden on Oliver Nordgren's orders.
He was portrayed by Alexander Öhrstrand.
Biography[]
Past[]
Lot of Niklas' past is unknown except for the fact that his and his brother Linus' parents died somewhere during their childhood. After their deaths, Niklas started taking care of Linus and sometime before Season 2, Oliver Nordgren recruited him into his own cause.
Bron/Broen[]
When an abadoned ship crashes into the Oresund Bridge, five abducted kids are found inside. There's no crew or nothing in the tanker besides the kids. Sometime later it appears that the kids had pneumonic plague. After the deaths of the kids, Niklas along with Mads Nielsen, Mathilde Madsen and Katharina Lövgren uploads a video on YouTube while wearing animal masks talking about environmental problems. The video goes viral fast.
The next attacks were on foods, as Niklas started to poison fruits in food trucks and foods in the supermarkets. Another video is then uploaded. Shortly after an explosion of a petrol tanker at the harbor, Niklas informs Mads and the rest that he wants out, so that he can take better care of Linus, but Mads' compassionate about Niklas' thoughts. The actions of the kids didn't raise sympathy for Oliver either as he decides to have Julian Madsen set up a meeting between him and the four eco-terrorists so that he could gas them to death "for having too much ideas" and because the police we're closing in on them.
