Nokt is one of the overarching antagonists of the Ninjago: Shatterspin comic series and Season 2, and one of the secondary antagonists of Season 3 of Ninjago: Dragons Rising.
He is an anthropomorphic wolf from the Wyldness, as well as the Elemental Master of Brute Force and one of the two leaders of the Forbidden Five, alongside his sister Rox, who Lord Ras and the Wolf Clan freed from Nether-Space during the Ritual of the Blood Moon. However, Nokt was forced to serve Ras after attempting to turn against him for not freeing the rest of the Forbidden Five.
At some point after the ritual, Nokt and his sister, Rox (who was possessing Jordana at the time), slew three Arch Dragons and stole their horns as part of their plan to release the rest of the Five. He went on to participate in the Tournament of the Sources, where he captured the powers of every Elemental Master present. He then went to the Monastery of Gates, where the dragon horns were kept, and used the stolen powers along with the ivory from the horns to bring back the other four. He succeeded in doing so, but was soon stripped of the stolen powers. Weakened, Nokt and the other four escape through a portal gate to the Cloud Kingdom, but was sent to another realm instead.
He is voiced by Deven Mack, who voices Thunderfang and Arin in the same series, and previously voiced The Skull Sorcerer in LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.
Biography[]
Past[]
Nokt, like the rest of the Forbidden Five, was once a normal Elemental Master. However, he joined the Forbidden Five, a group of evil Elemental Masters. With the rest of the Forbidden Five, Nokt seized control of his own realm and set out to conquer the rest. Using a fighting technique they created known as Shatterspin, Nokt and his companions defeated all who opposed them. During their conquest of the Realms of Creation, the Forbidden Five encountered resistance from the Dragon Masters Egalt and Rontu. The Dragon Masters could counter Shatterspin via their Rising Dragon fighting technique. Using Rising Dragon, the Dragon Masters were able to successfully defeat Nokt and the rest of the Forbidden Five. With the Forbidden Five defeated, they were banished to Nether-Space, Nokt included.
Season 2: Part 1[]
Millennia later during the Ritual of the Blood Moon, Lord Ras managed to push Kai into the portal to Nether-Space opened by Jordana. Such an action freed Nokt, releasing him into the Wyldness. With Nokt freed, the Wolf Clan all stopped fighting the ninja and kneeled to him in respect. Lord Ras took the opportunity explain to Nokt his involvement in freeing him and his plan to free the rest of the Forbidden Five. Determined to free the rest, Nokt employed the use of Shatterspin against the ninja and knocked all except Nya back. Nya managed to attack Nokt with Rising Dragon, but he was undeterred and forced her back with Shatterspin. Unfortunately for him and the Wolf Clan, Jordana was unable to keep the portal open long enough to knock in sacrifices to free the remaining members of the Forbidden Five. In a moment of desperation, Lord Ras asked his master for aid, leading to him, Nokt, the Wolf Clan, and the Shadow Dojo to be teleported to a field. Enraged that the rest of the Forbidden Five were left behind, Nokt attacked Lord Ras. Nokt was quickly defeated by Lord Ras and had an electroshock device placed on the back his head and delivered a powerful electric shock. Ras then proclaimed that he expects loyalty from Nokt and that any resistance would be met with further electrocution.
Season 2 part 2
Not and Cinder are in a training session where Nokt is easily defeating him. He is held back when Ras presses his remote to zap Nokt before he can hurt Cinder. Without Ras knowing, he and a possessed Jordana kill three matriarchs and patriarchs and put their horns in the Tournament of Sources Monastery. After noticing Sora looking at Jordana as if she was investigating something, he inquired what her suspicions might be from Rox. During the tournament of Sources, he defeats Tox using excessive force. When he finds out he is facing Nya, he tries to manipulate her about Jay and Kai both not being with her for different reasons. He is easily able to take the first gem. For the second gem, he is almost defeated, but Bleckt moves the gem, allowing him to win. When he finds out Nya and Riyu know his plan, he takes Rox with him to try and capture them. He is able to use Jay's lightning power to defeat Neuro in the next match. During the fight against Lloyd, he wins by default because an ancient rule said that Lloyd wasn't allowed to fight. Sora used unique combinations of powers to gain the upper hand on Nokt in the final match. Since Blekt tilted the arena when he wasn't supposed to, Sora lost. Before Nokt could get the powers he needed, Zur and Wyldfyre reveal that Bleckt rigged the matches against Nya and Sora. Nokt and Rox were able to somehow get the powers and reach the Tournament Temple Monastery and free the remaining five. Nokt tries to capture Ras for revenge but is stopped by Arin.
They soon arrive in the first realm, looking to make a deal with Thunderfang. Thunderfang agreed, but only if they freed him with the five prismatic blades. Nokt was able to beat Zane and Pixal on the train battle for the red prismatic blade. He took down Sora's jet when told by Drix that ninja were going to attack when he tried to deliver the remaining two blades. Nokt started fighting Ras, wanting to take revenge for being put under his control against his will. Arin, with the last blades, instead of flying away and escaping, he tried to save Ras, and lost. When he unleashes Thunderfang, his soul is consumed by Thunderfang and was defeated.
Personality[]
Before and after his appearance, Nokt is already revealed to be malevolent and evil, reveling in chaos he and his brethren cause. In the past, Nokt is highly sadistic, enjoying to watch the misery of Ras' ancestor. When he returned after many years of exile, Nokt wastes no time in attacking Ninja and sides with Ras. When Lord Ras puts the electric chip on Nokt to make him be obedient, he had no choice but to obey his orders.
When training with Cinder, he is revealed to be highly aggressive and attempts to kill Cinder, even after he defeats him, but Ras stops him and says he is supposed to have a training, not war. Nokt dryly says that everything is war. Nokt asks Ras to release with a fake warm smile, but frowned sourly when Ras revealed that while he respects the Forbidden Five, he does not trust them, which causes Nokt to have a dislike for Ras.
However despite his ruthlessness, Nokt has an honorable side as despite having a chance to easily finish off the defeated, captured, and unarmed Ras he opted to release the tiger and return the latter's weapon before fighting him, having no interest in fighting a weakened and defenseless opponent.
