Nolan Alvarez was a supporting antagonist (turned anti-villain) in the Filipino Action Drama TV Series, Black Rider.
He was a loyal associate and partner of Edgardo Magallanes in their criminal syndicate known as Golden Scorpion, but later defected after the syndicate ousted him after a failed operation. He has intense rivalry with Edgardo’s son, Calvin Magallanes who he constantly underestimates due to his constant failures, recklessness, and spoiled nature causing almost of their operations to be backfired. He is also the father of Jasper Alvarez, who was first killed by Black Rider in the Golden Scorpion.
He is portrayed by Filipino Actor Monsour Del Rosario.
Biography[]
At some point, he joined in the Golden Scorpion and became Edgardo’s loyal partner in their underground businesses. He fathered Jasper, one of Calvin’s friends, and always compared him to Calvin, that Jasper is far better and proficient to be the next leader of Golden Scorpion.
As Black Rider killed his son Jasper in a duel in a ship graveyard, he hatched a plan to extract his revenge on him causing a rift with his loyalty to the Golden Scorpion. He faced Black Rider and attempted to kill him after he raided their hideout, only to stop him as authorities have entered their hideout, allowing him and the syndicate to escape. As their operation failed, he once again blamed his rival Calvin due to his recklessness. Despite of the tension, he still continued to work in the Golden Scorpion until he was finally ousted after Calvin shot him in the head during another shootout with the authorities and Black Rider.
Luckily, he survived after Calvin shot him, as authorities was able to arrest him and take him into the hospital to treat his injuries. As he regains consciousness, he hatched his revenge to the Golden Scorpion, learning that the syndicate has ousted him by trying to summon Chief Ricarte and Mayor Alfonso Buenaventura to expose their crimes. Edgardo implies that he will be exposing their crimes, and called Romana to assassinate him to prevent him from confessing. As Romana confronts him, he pleaded to Romana not to trust Edgardo, but Romana continued her plan to assassinate him and managed to take him down by stabbing him in the chest resulting his end.
Personality[]
As seen in the series he is an ambitious, egotistical, and elitist individual as he ultimately pursue his job dedicatedly serving his loyalty to Edgardo and Golden Scorpion. Also this was seen in some scenes such as comparing Jasper’s proficiency in Golden Scorpion and blaming Calvin in a failed operation, as he underestimates him due to his recklessness causing constant failures.
After his son’s death caused by Black Rider and Golden Scorpion ousted him, he became a vengeful and wrathful individual as he starts to plot his revenge for those everyone who gave him his downfall.
