~ Norbot (while on Evil Mode) explains to Wallace thats he invented an army of himself as more gnomes to him |
Norbot’s Minions are the secondary antagonists of Aardman’s 10th full-length Stop-Motion film Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, the 6th installment of the Wallace and Gromit franchise and its second feature film. They were created by the original Norbot who was created by Wallace, because of the escape of Feathers McGraw, he brainwashes Norbot into “Evil Mode” by adding an army of blue Norbots as his new henchmen for the diamond.
Biography[]
On the day before, Gromit hears loud stomping and discovers it’s coming from the garage, and is shocked to see numerous Norbots approach to Wallace with Norbot explaining he’s invented new gnomes for Wallace for command as they do anything he says as long as he is their leader and even tracks the gnomes of where they go off. Gromit doesn’t accept this, meaning he has to drive off to the Norbots to see what they are up to, Gromit looks in the van and sees the Norbots are staying with him for not to interfere their plans.
Norbot commands his minions to go on their scooters for their gardening duty for Wallace’s command when he tells Gromit to “Release the Gnomes” and they are all off to the gardens of 62 West Wallaby Street and sing their gardening tune “March of the Norbots” while Gromit attempts to stop them. Unfortunately, Gromit hears the fence is about to fall from the nail loose, making him bounce on a trampoline, collapse on a wheelbarrow and gets landed in a shed, with the Norbot locking Gromit in the shed with one of the minions place a plant on the shed door to prevent Gromit escaping and exposing their plot.
Fortunately, it is revealed the Norbots stole the garden items from the West Wallaby Citizens, foreshadowing their evil plot, meaning Gromit was telling the truth. Back at home, a Norbot minion gives Wallace some chocolate milk for his relaxation and massages him.
When Gromit manages to escape the shed, he sees in the garage, realizing the real plot The Norbots are constructing with the West Wallaby Citizens' tools. However, Gromit accidentally steps on a rubber ducky with the Norbots overhearing this, they maliciously glare at him from observing them on their plan. When Wallace checks the garage, he is impressed from the Norbots cleaning the garage making it spotless, while he is unaware that the Norbots are evil and doesn’t even realize the tools they are using from the citizens.
Back at West Wallaby Zoo, the Norbots were also revealed to be working for the evil penguin and please their master, except one Norbot who plays Amazing Freaking Grace on his bagpipe, leaving Feathers McGraw to punch him over (presumably into the ocean enclosure) and presumably leaves him dead with all of the rest of the minions walk to the submarine.
At the climax of the film, Feathers McGraw in his nun disguise drives a canal boat with the Norbots, Wallace and Gromit genuinely plan to use one of his inventions to charge workman boots at the Norbot’s to hit them on their emotion mode button back to “Good Mode” and help Norbot save Gromit from falling to his death from the canal. When Feathers McGraw has been outsmarted from the turnip they all cheer for hooray. At the very end, The Gnomes finally redeem themselves and go back to gardening duty for Wallace.
Trivia[]
- Norbot is the only minion to not be blue designed.
- In The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, there is a blue smart gnome who turns evil with red eyes. This could possibly imply the reason the Norbots have an evil mode and turn into antagonists. Consistently, both of the smart gnomes appear in full-length feature films. The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and Vengeance Most Fowl.
- In A Grand Day Out when the roof shakes open, there can be a gnome in the garden shaking and falls in the basement, but it’s unknown if it’s an invention created by Wallace or if that gnome could possibly be Norbot with Wallace using expensive robotic tools on him making the Norbots mechanically modified.
- Although, unlike Norbot’s appearance, Norbot was completely good from the start with the minions originating by Feathers McGraw and started off evil.
