Norifumi Saku (jap. 佐久法史, Saku Norifumi)is the secondary antagonist of "Kogoro Mouri, Suspect". He's a lawyer and a colleague of Eri Kisaki.
He's voiced by Rikiya Koyama.
Past[]
Norifumi comes from a small village that suffers from environmental pollution from the surrounding corporations. His work colleague Ritsuko Usui took over this case to give her own career a big boost. Norifumi found out about this and swore revenge on her.
Present day[]
Together with his work colleague Eri, he's looking for the best souvenir for Kogoro in a tie shop. Ran, who isn't too thrilled about her mother's alleged cheating, throws herself between the couple and asks strange questions. Only in a café in the hotel does Norifumi introduce himself as a lawyer and thus as a colleague of Eri.
Norifumi visits Ritsuko in her hotel room and is invited into the room. There he drugs Ritsuko with sleeping pills and plans to make it look like a suicide, but then he discovers Kogoro sleeping in the bed. This unpredictable situation leads to a change of plans. He rips the phone cord out of the wall and strangles Ritsuko. Eventually he finds a note that says "Hayashi 2". The hotel's menu is open next to the table, and Norifumi interprets this as a room service order. Out of anger, he throws the note in the wastebasket. He puts Kogoro's mobile phone right in front of the front door, tidies everything up again and locks the door with a trick. He then goes back to the others who are looking for the renowned detective.
Eri and the others ring Ritsuko's doorbell but receive no answer. The famous detective's wife finally calls him on his cell phone, which can then be heard loudly from the hotel room in front of them. Norifumi opens the door and finds that the bolt locks the room. However, he discovers his colleague's body on the floor of the room and easily breaks down the door. On the corpse they find the wanted Kogoro half dreaming in the bed of the murdered woman and suspect something bad. Norifumi decides to act as an attorney for Kogoro and accompanies him to the police station.
After many and difficult investigations, Eri and Conan are able to solve the case and decide to set a trap for the culprit. Eri asks Norifumi to go to the murdered woman's room as she still has to make a phone call. In front of a room he discovers a tray with two plates of Hayashi rice on it. So he decides to ring the bell in the very room that the food is in front of. Baffled that Conan opened the door for him and not Inspector Misao Yamamura, Eri, standing behind Norifumi, begins the evidence.
The manipulated chain was a ploy to cover up the murder and portray Kogoro as the culprit. The mobile phone was just outside the door to get the master key and open the door if there was a call to reception. The question Eri asks is how did Norifumi know about the murdered woman's room. Norifumi points to the Hayashi rice that was in front of the door. At the same time, he realizes that he gave himself away because he couldn't know anything about the Hayashi. Then he gets nervous and tries to find excuses. The actual note did not contain the Hayashi rice twice, but that a meeting between Ritsuko and work colleague Hayashi should take place at 2:00 p.m. Surprised by Eri's reasoning and the evil trap set for him, he eventually confesses to the crime. Nevertheless, he is convinced that this method could not prevail in court. Only Eri and Conan saw him enter the room. However, Inspector Yamamura and his police officers hid in the surrounding rooms and watched the full confession.
Norifumi was from the village and acted as key witness in the pollution case. Ritsuko Usui only accepted this case to trump Eri. So he killed her to put an end to her selfishness and negligence as a lawyer and to save his home village from destruction.
Even before he is taken away, he confesses his true feelings for Eri.
