Norn Clatalissa Jioral, currently known as Ellen, is a major antagonist turned supporting character of the controversial 2017 Japanese dark fantasy light novel series Redo of Healer as well as its manga and anime adaptations of the same name.

She is voiced by Minami Tsuda in the anime adaptation.

Biography

Norn is the younger sister to Flare Arlgrande Jioral and the second princess of the Jioral Kingdom. The two siblings once gotten along very well and loved each other when they were younger. But their father instigated a fierce rivalry between them once Flare was chosen to be a hero and not Norn. Due to her lack of combat abilities, many people in her kingdom belittled Norn as a failure product in the royal family even when Flare looked down on her by calling her a Big Failure. She was sent to a very rigorous overseas academy and came back a sociopathic woman who was brilliant for someone so young. While not directly involved in Keyarga's suffering, Norn knew of what was happening to him and was amused by how much perseverance the hero had during his torment. Prior to Keyarga creating a new timeline, Norn was responsible for attacking multiple demon cities, some of which she ordered Flare to destroy. After Hawk-Eye's death and her troops were wiped out, Norn was captured and tortured by Keyarga to make her as his new "toy" named Ellen not before Norn say her final words to Keyarga which is "Go to hell".

Personality

Norn is cold and calculative, with her being the true power behind the throne of her kingdom and has the same sadomasochistic tendencies as her sister. Another way she is similar to Flare is that Norn has the same repulsive habit of making people into her "pets", which she beats and kicks for stress relief. The one thing Norn can never stand is Flare herself, as the two have been at a bitter rivalry since they were kids. Due to Flare being a hero, their father constantly puts down her youngest daughter for not having her magical prowess, leaving her with a massive inferiority complex. Norn finds Flare to be stupid and calls her "trash" even after learning of her supposed death. Norn can also be seen as both a misanthrope and a xenophobe as she has no concern for other humans, seeing them as expendable and for her own benefit. She also has no qualms stirring conflicts with other races like the demons and demi-humans just for her own amusement. But it can inferred that she does this also to impress her father and undermine her sister's achievements.

Her tactical genius is something not to be undermined, as Keyarga himself did not want her brilliance to be wasted which is why he has her in his party. He even admitted that she could have easily defeated him despite the Hero of Recovery's knowledge of the previous timeline and his immensely powerful healing skills. She has great confidence in her intellect and the mounds of plans she concocts and thus hates it when she loses. Norn even sees herself as the only smart one and the rest of the kingdom as idiots. Although, she was impressed by Keyarga's intellect and could not comprehend his motives.

Despite all these abhorred traits, Norn does have some standards; one example is how disgusted she is with Blade and her predatory nature. And she hated how Renard went outside of her plans and raped Keyarga's first love to death, although her reasoning was that it would cause a riot in the kingdom for its corruption once news of the incident spreads and due to losing a valuable hostage.

Norn was also a coward when she doesn't know how to defend herself due to her lacks of physical prowess. After Hawk Eye died, she was being tortured by Keyarga by raping and using Flare (now known as Freia) harass Norn causing her to piddled herself.

As Ellen, she has a happy exterior and is madly in love with Keyarga, ironically much like her sister after her memory wipe. Also like Freia, Ellen would show signs of her former self's sociopathy but is far more pronounced. She eventually learned all about her previous life but decided to stay with the Hero of Recovery.
