Nos is a minor antagonist in the AMC series Into the Badlands.

He is a smuggler and human trafficker located in the Outlands who Sunny and Bajie go to in order get safe passage into the Badlands so that Sunny can get back to his family. Despite being willing to help them, Nos' shows himself to be extremely sadistic in the way he treats the doll prostitutes that work for him, one of which is a child, thus putting him at odds with the duo.

He was portrayed by Marc Rissmann.

Personality

Nos is shown to generally be polite towards those he interacts with, but this is mostly a mask in order to hide a ruthless individual. Nos takes great pride in what he does, be it smuggling or sex trafficking. He is even willing to make children into dolls, gleefully boasting to Sunny and Bajie about how much he will make off them. He is also extremely vindictive towards those who cross him, as he scars Portia's face and stabs after she expresses the desire to get her daughter Amelia away from him. Overall, he had no qualms hurting those who worked for him, as he taunted his workers with Nathaniel Moon's sword, and even threatened to kill Amelia when Sunny tried to take her, despite supposedly wanting to make her into a doll.

Biography

As a child, Nos desired to travel into the Badlands to take over a territory and claim a Barony for himself. However, as he aged and his control over his area of the Outlands grew, he began to enjoy his existing position over that prospect of becoming a Baron. Furthermore, after he saw the chaos that the Barons were causing each other, Nos no longer wished to enter the Badlands and instead wished to stay in his occupation as a successful smuggler. Over the years, a scavenger named Bajie would work with Nos several times. One day, Bajie and Sunny, one of the most skilled Clippers from the Badlands, arrive to meet with Nos. They present to him the sword of Nathaniel Moon, a legendary Clipper who they defeated and took the sword from, giving it to Nos in exchange for safe passage back into the Badlands. Nos happily accepts this deal and invites them to be his guests for the night while he prepares a transport for them to get through the Badlands border wall the next day. Nos then has them eat with several other of his guests, which they thank him for. However, tension boils between Nos and Sunny when he reveals that he enjoys his work, which includes sex trafficking dolls, including a young girl named Amelia, who Nos plans to turn into a doll very soon. That night, Amelia's mother, a doll named Portia asks Sunny to kill Nos so that her daughter will be spared of becoming a doll, but he refuses as he cannot give up his chance to get back into the Badlands to find his family. When Nos finds out about this, he scars Portia's face so that she will not be useful as a doll anymore. As Sunny and Bajie prepare to leave in the car Nos provided them the next day, Nos presents that scarred Portia to them, and thanks Sunny for not accepting her offer to kill him. It seems Sunny and Bajie are about to leave, but Sunny stops when he sees Nos pick up Amelia, and mockingly say she will make him a fortune as a doll, before stabbing Portia. Enraged, Sunny attacks and kills all of Nos' men, with the plan to take Portia and Amelia with him. Nos then threatens to kill Amelia, but is knocked out by Bajie who attack him from behind, and the two depart with both Portia and Amelia.

Powers & Abilities

• Smuggling: Nos was an extremely capable smuggler, being the only known person in the Outlands who can successfully smuggle cargo through the Badlands border wall.
• Leadership: Nos is one of the few people able to successfully hold a leadership position in the Outlands, an area that generally lacks structure and is overrun with nomad scavengers.

Trivia

• It is unknown what happens to Nos after Bajie knocks him out as despite being shown to have survived, he does not come after Bajie and Sunny again.
