Nozomi-G, typically known by her cover identity of Nozomi Kirifuji, is the main antagonist of the Box of Calamity arc in the 2025 video game Last Defense Academy. Nozomi-G was created when a G'ie Queen took control of the real Nozomi's body, causing the parasite to become sapient while not losing her instinctual purpose of propagating her species by killing potential host bodies and spreading discord.

While Nozomi-G typically uses the real Nozomi's arsenal in battle, she favors using a G'ie scythe when committing her murders.

History[]

Origins[]

In the lead-up to the Box of Calamity route, Futuran Commander Eva was executed by Kako on Day 21, shortly after describing an item known as the Box of Blessings.

On Day 22, Nozomi told Takumi that she disagreed with his decision to execute Eva, and told him to stay away from her.

Elsewhere, Kako left the school to search for the Box. That night, Takumi refused to help Ima search for Kako, so she found a Box of Calamity and was taken over by a G'ie Queen that night, creating Kako-G. Takumi then discovered a Box of Calamity outside the school. After passing out from a sighting of the deceased Eva, Eva takes the Box and tosses it outside the Wall of Fire. Nozomi then finds Takumi, and the Box, and takes it to her room.

When Kako-G was discovered by the SDU on Day 23, she had some initial difficulty with speaking, but quickly achieved fluency. Kako-G attempted to kill Nozomi with a scythe that night, but was scared off by Takumi and Hiruko. Kako-G was then captured and taken away by Hiruko, and banished to another universe early in the morning of Day 24.

By Day 25 to Day 26, Nozomi opened the Box of Calamity she found, causing her to be taken over by the G'ie Queen inside, creating Nozomi-G.

Initial Moves[]

On the night of Day 26, Nozomi-G lured Yugamu to a school bathroom and killed him, later suspending his body with a rope. His body is discovered by the students on the morning of Day 27. Gaku is certain that his death was caused by a curse, but the others do not believe him.

On Day 30, Shouma discovered a small dead animal outside the school while exploring. He brought it back to his room and dressed it up as a doll. Around this time, Nozomi-G infested the doll with a Male G'ie, causing the doll to reanimate as a puppet under her control. Shouma names the doll Leo Jr.

Nozomi-G assists Takumi in researching the possibility of a curse affecting the SDU in the library on Day 39. When they later discuss it on the school roof that night, Nozomi-G is kidnapped and bound by an enraged Ima. He demands that the SDU bring him the Box of Calamity that caused Kako to disappear, or he will kill Nozomi-G.

The students are unable to find the Box or a believable substitute until the night of Day 49, when Nozomi-G launches another attack. Another student, Moko, is killed by Leo Jr in the cafeteria. When Takumi discovers Moko's body and an open Box of Calamity inside, Leo Jr launches another attack on Sirei and Nigou in the War Room, destroying them both. If Takumi chose to not pick up the box when he first discovered Moko's body, Leo Jr successfully enters the box as Takumi rushes to assist Sirei in the War Room.

After the attack on Sirei[]

If Takumi rushes to help Sirei[]

When Takumi gives the Box to Ima, he finds Leo Jr inside, and releases Nozomi-G. However, he attacks Takumi out of rage, and is quickly subdued by Takemaru. Ima is then imprisoned within the school Courtyard, but Nozomi-G compels Leo Jr to kill him in his cage on the night of Day 55.

On Day 73, Nozomi-G kills and hangs Kurara, another student, in one of the classrooms. Shouma catches her in the act, but threatens to reveal Leo Jr's homicidal nature if he doesn't stay silent on her identity as the killer. Upon seeing Kurara's body, Gaku suggests performing an exorcism to remove the curse he believes is affecting the students. Hiruko believes that the killer is not a paranormal one, and seeks to treat the killings as a murder case.

If Takumi supports Gaku[]

If Takumi supports Gaku, then they work together to perform an exorcism. Their activities cause a foul-smelling incense to fill the school, which luckily weakens Nozomi-G enough to stop her murder spree. No more students die, and all of them, including Nozomi-G, manage to board the escape pod bound for the Artificial Satellite on Day 100.

If Takumi support Hiruko[]

If Takumi supports Hiruko, they work together to search for clues. On the night of Day 76, Shion appears to Takumi, informing him that the Boxes of Blessings and Calamity look quite similar, and can only be distinguished by the number of moons drawn on them. They conclude that some entity within the Box of Calamity is responsible for the recent string of murders. Takumi relays this information to the rest of the students the next day, causing everyone to agree to search for the box that took over Kako.

Takemaru was ambushed by Nozomi-G while searching for a Box on Day 80, and taken over by a G'ie. He returns to the school on the night of Day 84, appearing much less talkative than he used to be. The infested Takemaru later kills Gaku on the night of Day 86, and attacks the remaining students, but is blown up by Tsubasa, using a bomb earlier installed by Sirei.

On Day 89, Shion informs the students about what he learned from a scroll Takumi and Hiruko discovered a week earlier - the G'ie lifecycle. They conclude that one of the student has been taken over by a queen. On Day 91, Tsubasa works on developing some fingerprint technology to determine who handled the Box that had the doll inside. Nozomi-G suggests having everyone die and be revived by the school's Revive-O-Matic to remove the G'ie Queen, in an attempt to eliminate the remaining students in one go. However, Hiruko says Nozomi-G's suggestion probably wouldn't remove the Queen, and even if it did, Hiruko is not confident about the alive students protecting themselves from the killer if one of them is busy reviving.

On Day 92, Tsubasa discovers that Shouma's fingerprints were on the Box, causing Takumi to call him out during a meeting in the cafeteria. Shouma admits to being the killer, and is then chained up in the school garage.

On Day 99, Takumi foils Nozomi-G's attempt to kill Hiruko in her sleep via Leo Jr. The two destroy the doll and get Shouma to admit that he was lying. After applying some pressure, Shouma agrees to reveal the identity of the real killer, but a battle siren goes off, causing Takumi and Hiruko to go to the War Room. Nozomi-G uses this chance to kill Shouma.

On Day 100, the remaining students are ready to board the escape pod bound for the Artificial Satellite, but Hiruko says they can't leave until the G'ie Queen is exposed. Takumi figures out that Nozomi-G is the killer.

If Takumi reveals that Nozomi-G is the killer, Nozomi-G tries to defend herself, but soon gives up. She then asks to be spared, and proposes that she can continue pretending to be Nozomi as she kills the inhabitants of the Artificial Satellite. However, before she can finish stating her proposal, Tsubasa triggers the bomb installed in Nozomi-G. The G'ie Queen inhabiting Nozomi survives, but is soon killed by Takumi.

If Takumi keeps his revelation secret, he returns to his room as Nozomi-G kills the other two survivors. She then goes to his room, and thanks him for keeping her identity secret. The school's defense system then kills them both a few minutes later.

If Takumi hides the Box[]

If Takumi decides to hide the Box found near Moko, he goes to Ima empty-handed. As Ima is about to kill Nozomi-G, Hiruko breaks through the room's window and knocks Ima out. Ima is imprisoned within the Courtyard, and then hides the Box in his room.

Compelled by Nozomi-G, Leo Jr attacks Takumi in his room on the night of Day 56. However, this attack is foiled by Hiruko, and the two destroy the doll and the G'ie inside.

After boosting his hemoanima by executing a Commander on Day 58, Takumi is able to have a conversation with the deceased Eva. They discuss the Box and her life; they ultimately decide to visit her village in the future.

After Takumi takes a bad fall on Day 67 while searching for Eva's village, Nozomi-G claims that Takumi was pushed on the morning of Day 68 to sow distrust.

Takumi finds Eva's village on Day 71, and decides on whether to tell the other students about it on the the early morning of Day 73.

If Takumi doesn't tell[]

Meanwhile, Nozomi-G releases Ima from his cage; Ima attacks Takumi as he tries to sleep. Takumi manages to escape his room, and Ima is knocked out by Takemaru. Ima is then restrained in the infirmary, despite Hiruko's interest in absorbing his hemoanima.

Nozomi-G then attempts to kill Takumi with a scythe on Day 81. After announcing that Takumi will become an incubator for the G'ie, Nozomi-G pursues Takumi to his room, but he slams the door shut before she can get inside. Nozomi-G then bangs on the door, asking Takumi to let her inside, until she gives up and leaves.

Nozomi-G lures and kills Tsubasa on Day 79, but Tsubasa's body is found much later, on Day 82. On Day 83, Takumi considers questioning Nozomi-G about her attack two days earlier, but decides otherwise, chalking it up to a hallucination.

Nozomi-G kills Kurara, and her body is found on Day 91. This is followed by Shouma's body on Day 92. However, Nozomi-G's deception is discovered on Day 94 by Takemaru and Hiruko. They fight in the woods, resulting in the deaths of both parties.

If Takumi does tell[]

When Takumi tells the other students about the village, they consider disabling the school's missile system, set to activate on Day 100.

After fighting Dahl'Xia, Nozomi-G visit Takumi on Day 88, and claims that something with his hemoanima is abnormal, causing Eva's manifestations. She asks Takumi to let her examine Takumi's body for abnormalities using the Revive-O-Matic.

On the night of Day 92, when Nozomi-G finishes her sabotage to the Revive-O-Matic, she asks Takumi if he thinks that Eva is an evil spirit.

If he does, Nozomi-G kills Takumi with her scythe, and then successfully kills the other students. She then manages to revive the dead students with male G'ie. A hemoanima avatar of Takumi sees Nozomi-G cackling over her victory on Day 100.

If he doesn't, he manages to dodge Nozomi-G's scythe in time. Terrified, Takumi runs from the infirmary, with Nozomi-G hot on his heels. She mentions that she chose this time to attack because no one would be awake to hear Takumi's calls for help. Nozomi-G manages to cripple Takumi by slicing his leg, but Takemaru and Hiruko notice the chase. Nozomi-G is confident that she will win against the two, but Hiruko detonates the bomb Sirei implanted within Nozomi-G, killing her instantly.

Personality[]

Nozomi-G claims that Nozomi's brain is inherently unsuitable for deception, but she managed to evade detection until mere days before the students are set to leave in the escape pod, if she's discovered at all. She is also shown to be very persuasive; Tsubasa feared that the remaining students would actually agree to let Nozomi-G board the escape pod bound for the Artificial Satellite.

She has shown a ruthless interest in making sure the SDU are wiped out, and appears willing to stop at nothing to ensure the G'ie defeat the SDU and the Futurans. She has also shown immense glee with her attempts to kill Takumi.
