Iku, better known as Number 19, is a major antagonist of the webcomic/manga Calendar of Vengeance.
While originally being believed to be the one behind the source of Number 31's suffering, she was truly only one of the enforcers of 31's bullying. She was the one that told Number 27 and Number 30 to bully Number 31.
Biography[]
Pop star by day and mistress by night, Number 19 sleeps with major television business men to get famous roles in adult films. She directly targets roles that Number 31 had, stealing six roles from her. Eventually, she gets caught by Number 31, who demands to know why 19 put so much effort into making sure she got bullied. 19 laughed, and said it was because 31 wasn't good enough to be an idol, and that she was "a useless gutter rat". She then gets a call from one of her "business partners", and then offers Number 31 a job, not telling her that it is a prostitution job. Due to the fact that 19 has stolen all of her movie roles, in desperate need of work, Number 31 agrees.
As Number 31 goes off to the job, 19's plan is revealed. She intended to have Mr. K, the person she sent 31 to, drug and rape 31, where then 19 could presumably either kill her, and kidnap her to torture and bully. However, that night, Number 19 receives a text from Mr. K, saying that Number 31 is useless, and he wants 19 to come to him and do the job herself. When 19 arrives, she eagerly takes the sex drug pills she takes to heighten her performance, but is shocked to find that Mr. K is dead, having been killed by 31. It is revealed that it was 31 who sent the text to 19, but not after sending all the previous text messages to herself so she has proof of 19's transactions.
Enraged, 19 tries to charge at 31, but collapses. It turns out, 31 swapped 19's sex pills for ones that are ten times as strong, so much so that 19 can barely feel or move her body. 31 then forces a second pill down 19's throat, and explains that the combined dosage that she just gave 19 was the same one she gave Mr. K, which will cause a chemical reaction that will lead to an extremely painful fatal heart attack in a matter of moments, along with an equally painful overdose.
19 is terrified, but can't move her body due to the drug's effects, allowing 31 to molest and humiliate her. 19 begs for forgiveness, begging 31 to call for an ambulance, but 31 just sneers down at the girl, telling her to shut up, repeating back to her the same insults that she used against her. Number 19 then dies, light fading from her eyes.
After 19 dies, 31 takes the opportunity to forever ruin 19's legacy, by not only publicly posting the texts between 19 and Mr. K, but also stripping down 19's body, placing her on the bed in a suggestive position, and raping her dead body, humiliating the girl even after her death. Even though the Calendrier is good at covering up the deaths of pop stars that die, which is how Number 31 was able to kill both 27 and 30 without getting caught by police, Number 31 handles 19's death differently. As previously stated, 31 releases seductive texts between Mr. K and 19 to the public, photos and films 19's naked dead body, and ruins 19's reputation in every conceivable way.
Number 31 choosing to publicly humiliate the deceased Number 19 is confirmed when Number 4 looks at her phone and sees a news article about a scandal involving a "suspended popular idol" and her "activities". This implies that the Manager covered up Number 19's death by saying that she had been suspended due to her activities, got upset, and then accidentally overdosed one night when mixing drugs at a one night stand.
She makes a minor appearance later on during one of Number 31's nightmares, where the nightmare of 19 taunts 31 before she wakes up.
Personality[]
Number 19 is one of the most heartless characters in the show. Her "sensitive" side is a mask she created, used to hide her true, evil self from the world. She doesn't care about either of her friends, and only sees them as business associates. She doesn't truly have any real emotions, and instead fakes them; she'll cry on cue, tell her one night stands that she loves them, and even goes so far as to manipulate Number 31 into signing up for a prostitution job in hopes that she'll get raped.
She only cares about two things; drugs and status. She takes regularly takes aphrodisiacs that she loves because they make her feel amazing, and she also cares about manipulating people around her in order to get powerful positions. For example, she sleeps with a famous movie business owner at the beginning of the third chapter in order to get a movie role.
In fact, it is possible that Number 19 is the most evil character in the entire story, as she chooses to bully Number 31 even without being asked to by Number 11, while not caring about anyone else. While other characters have some personalized reason for hating Number 31 (such the germaphobic Number 5 who's hand Number 31 shook while it was dirty, Number 17 who's boyfriend was killed as an indirect result of Number 31, or Number 27 who was extremely jealous of Number 31), Number 19 doesn't have any grudge against 31. She bullies 31 because it relaxes her, and she doesn't think she is good enough to become an idol. She is perhaps even more evil than the story's main antagonist, Number 11. While Number 11 has people she loves, such as her father, Number 19 does not care about anyone other than herself.
