Number 29 is a minor antagonist of Season 1 of the Netflix K-Drama thriller Squid Game. He is a masked worker involved in the organ trafficking conspiracy of the 33rd Squid Games, being Number 28's. He is quickly killed, however, and has his identity stolen by Hwang Jun-ho.
He is portrayed by Choi Jun-seok.
Biography[]
Number 29's life is unknown but at some point he became a worker for the Squid Games and ended up getting involved in it's organ trafficking scheme for a certain amount of time. He was the partner of 28, using his diving experience to help deliver fresh organs to the black market. He had a seemingly close relationship with 28 given the latter is grateful having saved his life at some point and recognizes his voice and face. At some point he would drag out the body of a player the other traffickers beat to death.
In the 33rd Squid Games in 2020, helped use the doctor Byeong-gi to cheat the games.
He is among other workers getting return players ready for the return of the games, picking up multiple participants (including Seong Gi-hun) in a car, gassing them and taking them to the boat. As he is nearing the boat, doesn't notice detective Hwang Jun-ho breaks into his car and disgusises as an unconscious player. When 29 realizes the scanner won't work on Jun-ho, the detective strangles him to death and steals his identity to infiltrate the Squid Games.
