~ Nurse Psycho's introduction as she gets Garfield to get him in shape. |
Nurse Psycho, also known as Nurse Maggie in reality, is the main antagonist of The Garfield Show episode High Scale.
She is a nurse from the Cat Spa who Garfield imagines as a strict, masculine-sounding lady who puts him into a strict and severe diet where he is forced to exercise under her abusive supervision, pressuring him when his exercise is slow and when he refuses to eat the pea and a drop of water. Despite the whole ordeal being a nightmare, this leads to Garfield promising to lose weight, but to no avail, though it is found out that Jon put the wrong setting on the scale, making it believe Garfield hasn't lost any weight.
She is voiced by Frank Welker.
Appearance[]

Biography[]
In Garfield's nightmare, Nurse Psycho serves as the strict nurse of the Cat Spa, which traps animals like in a prison and not tolerating any screaming from them. Garfield attempts to cry for help, but Hector warns him that Nurse Psycho doesn't like when animals scream in terror and reveals what happened to the last fat cat who complained, which turned out to be himself, scaring Garfield. However, he doesn't think Nurse Psycho would actually be that bad.
Garfield's thoughts would be shown as false when Nurse Psycho enters the room, asking where is the new cat that arrived in the Spa. Knowing it is Garfield, she asks him if he was screaming in terror, but he denies as he was only doing some yodeling. Nurse Psycho then picks Garfield up and forces him into a diet to get him in shape.
Starting off with a dinner, Nurse Psycho gives Garfield a drop of water and asks if he likes peas, which he does, thinking he would be eating a plate full of peas. However, she only leaves a single pea on his plate, making him horrified. As Garfield tries to persuade the nurse into eating half of it and taking the other half home, she menacingly orders Garfield to eat it, telling him that as soon he would finish, he would begin his exercise, but Garfield prefers to digest first before doing so. Nevertheless, Garfield begins to go through a strict exercise, which the nurse telling that he would go through it for his whole life.
Eventually, Garfield goes on the scale to see if he lost at least two pounds, but it insults Garfield, saying he is still fat. His exercise therefore wasn't over as Nurse Psycho drags him back to the gym where he is forced to do some running. Seeing how slow he is running, she pressures him to run faster, saying her grandma can run faster than him. Afterwards, after failing to lose weight again, Nurse Psycho takes Garfield back to force him into doing pushups, pressuring him to do it faster as the cat gets exhausted from the exercise he is going through and falls to the floor. Angered by his slacking, Nurse Psycho threatens him, saying she doesn't like slackers in her Spa. Garfield asks her why she is doing all of this to him and that he must have lost weight by the time.
Ultimately, the whole ordeal turned out to be only a nightmare, but it had an impact on Garfield, who now promised to not slack around and actually lose weight. The scale would once again insult Garfield, but it was revealed that Jon made a mistake on it's setting, setting it on Pintsized Parakeet instead of Portly Pussycat by accident.
