Nyxlygsptlnz, better known as Nyxly for short, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Lex Luthor) in Season 6 of the CW 2015-2021 series Supergirl.
She is a Fifth Dimension Imp, who was banished to the Phantom Zone for rebelling against her father and teamed up with Lex Luthor to destroy the entire universe with the AllStone Totems.
She is portrayed by Petra Sergeant.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Nxyly was born in the Fifth Dimension to King Brpyx in the Fifth Dimension along with her younger brother Bryxly. At some point, she met Mxyzptlk and considered him a "wild card". After starting a rebellion to overthrow her father, she was defeated and banished to the Phantom Zone for her crimes against the Fifth Dimension. Her brother was her co-conspirator, but let her take the fall when their plan failed and got off scotfree.
Escaping the Phantom Zone[]
During her time in the Phantom Zone, she saved the Kryptonian scientist Zor-El and his daughter Kara from being captured by rebels and led them to safety. Kara and Nyxly bond over their imprisonment in the Phantom Zone, though it was really a ruse by Nyxly so she can escape. She assumed the form of a rebel and tortured Zor-El without him or Kara knowing. She got her magic back from an orb she pulled out of Shadow Lake and opened a portal back to Earth.
However, Kara finds out at the last minute that Nyxly was the one who tortured her father and that she planned on causing chaos upon escaping. She then sacrifices the only way home by blowing up Shadow Lake and the portal back to Earth, unaware that Nyxly survived the explosion. When Kara and Zor-El were later rescued by the Superfriends, Nyxly stows away aboard their ship and manages to escape too. Since she doesn't have her physical form on Earth, she manifest in Nia Nal's Naltorian dreams and persuades her to let her out in exchange for resurrecting Nia's mother for 24 hours.
Search for the AllStone Totems[]
Teaming up with an alien smuggler named Mitch, Nyxly set a trap for Kara who then escaped with Mxyzptlk's help. Outraged, Nyxly sends a message to the Superfriends threatening to destroy the city if they don't hand over Mxyptlk. Mxyptlk surrenders and Nyxly seals him inside her orb so she can begin hunting the AllStar Totems.
She first finds the Courage Totem at a museum, but a fight with Supergirl results in each of them getting one half of the totem. While struggling to unlock the Courage Totem, Nyxly is mentally transported to the memory of when her father banished her to the Phantom Zone. Nyxly breaks free and kills her father and brother, but is sent back to her body due to having failed the test. After repeating the test many times, she finally passes by making amends with Bryxly and gains the other half of the totem.
She then found the Humanity Totem, but in doing so accidentally absorbed the humanity of people in National City, making her overly sentimental while the affected humans became violent and crazy. She eventually throws away the Humanity Totem when she couldn't handle the emotions any longer, but then sought it back. She kidnapped William Dey to trade him for the Humanity Totem, but was foiled when Kara saved William and kept the totem.
After Mitch gave Nyxly the Lexosuit that was sent to her, she attacked Nia Nal and her sister Maeve in a dream world and managed to claim the Dream Totem. Back on her ship, the Lexosuit's AI creates a hologram that physically teleports the Lexosuit's creator: Lex Luthor. Lex offers to help Nyxly find the AllStone Totems, since he came from a future where she was killed having them. Nyxly initially refused Lex's help and went after the Love Totem by herself. During a fight with the Superfriends, the Love Totem was accidentally destroyed when Lex abandoned to save Nyxly from being killed by the heroes. When he takes back to her ship to recover, he reveals he's in love with Nyxly and they were together in the future and Nyxly warms up to a partenership.
Since AllStone Totems can't be destroyed, the duo find out that the Love Totem restored itself as a tattoo on the neck of Alex and Kelly's foster alien daughter Esme. They break into the Superfriends' Tower and kidnap Esme, during which Lex kills William. However, their partnership immediately falls out when Lex wants to cut Esme open for the Love Totem which Nyxly refused to, conveniently allowing her to pass the test and the Love Totem leaves Esme to Nyxly's hands. Nyxly returns Esme to her mothers, but Lex won't accept it and attacks Nyxly. They both then start fighting with their respective Totem Gauntlets, during which Nyxly accidentally kills Lex's mother after she took a blast from Nyxly to protect him. The battle escalated until they were both mutated with green skin from the Totems' powers.
Final Battle Against the Superfriends[]
Lex and Nyxly's battle is eventually halted when they are stripped of the AllStone Totems' powers by the union of all the citizens in National City, courtesy of Supergirl's worldwide message for the people to stand up against the two. After a long battle, Lex opened a portal to the Phantom Zone causing phantoms to breach through; however, the citizens' bravery redirects the phantoms into attacking Lex and Nyxly instead, dragging them into the Phantom Zone for eternity and ending their threat once and for all.

- Pyrokinesis: Nyxly can control and manipulate fire.
- Shapeshifting: Nyxly glamoured herself as a prisoner with a scar to injure Zor-El.
- Teleportation: Nyxly is able to teleport anywhere,
- Resurrection: Nyxly is able to temporarily bring Nia's mom back to life for 24 hours.
- Ergokinesis: Nyxly can fire powerful blasts of energy at her opponents.
- Power Negation: Nyxly is able to dampen Kara's Kryptonian powers.
- Cryokinesis: Nyxly was able to freeze Supergirl in ice,
- Conjuration: Nyxly can use her magic to summon objects out of thin air. She summoned a giant cat, created restrains to hold the Superfriend and created a Kryptonite-breathing dragon.
- Superhuman strength: She was able to effortlessly throw a depowered Supergirl into the Phantom Zone anchor and break the controls.
- Invulnerability: Nyxly claims a barbed cat would be defenseless against her.

- Magic-imbued cuff: Nyxly's father outfitted her with a cuff imbued with Fifth Dimensional magic that was capable of nullifying her powers.
- Anti-magic tech: Brainy was able to reverse-engineer technology capable of nullifying Fifth Dimensional magic, which was strapped onto Nyxly's wrist and nullified her powers.
