The Octacon is a minor antagonist in the anime Kirby! Right Back at Ya!. He is a powerful monster called a "Demon Beast" who was ordered by King Dedede from Nightmare Enterprises in the series' first episode, "Kirby Comes to Cappy Town".
Appearance[]
Octacon disguises itself as a small, pink, Japanese-style octopus that only consumes fish. In its true form it becomes an enormous crimson octopus with glaring green eyes, a dark "mask" on its face, and an enormous front-facing sucker.
Biography[]
Octacon is first shown in the cold open of "Kirby Comes to Cappy Town." It eats several of the Cappies' sheep, alerting Kirby's ship to the presence of monsters. The Cappies were suspicious of the octopus and went to Kabu for advice. He predicted that a pink Star Warrior named Kirby would come to the Cappies' rescue and defeat the monster. Dedede tried to make the Cappies think that Kirby was the monster eating up all the sheep, but the Cappies were so suspicious of his pet that they didn't believe him.
As Kirby arrived at Dedede's castle and went to look for his Warp Star, Dedede consulted with Nightmare Enterprises about Octacon. The N.M.E. Salesman told him to "give him time to grow on him". Octacon later hypnotized Dedede into attacking Kirby. Octacon soon grew to his true size and began to destroy the castle, generating miniature versions of himself to chase and trap Kirby on one of the castle towers. Tiff showed Kirby the Warp Star, allowing Kirby to overpower the smaller monsters before defeating Octacon itself.
Octacon is notable for being the first demon beast to appear in the Kirby anime.
Powers and Abilities[]
Octacon is capable of changing its size and appearance, disguising itself as a harmless pet octopus. It is also capable of hypnosis, allowing it to control people at will. He can generate miniature versions of himself to attack his opponent, as well as generate fire from his tentacles and mouth.
