Okita is the main antagonist of the Detective Conan/Case Closed episode "Mystery Mastermind".

He was voiced by Ryūzaburō Ōtomo, who voiced King Cold and Dabura in Dragon Ball and Crocodile in One Piece.

Biography[]

Okita is a man known for recruiting criminals who never work together before and have them do a job, one job in mind is the infamous 1 billion Yen Robbery Case. However, one of the criminals he recruited, a man named Kenzo Hirota decide to betray both his team mates and Okita and attempted to make out with the money, which led two of his partners hiring two detectives to find him, while making up fake identities in order to protect themselves.

At the climax of the episode, when Masami Hirota (real name Akemi Miyano) confronted Okita and told him that the pills she slipped into Akira's drink killed him instead of putting him to sleep, which he revealed that it was the only way to keep the police from knowing that he had the money. After answering her question, Okita demands that Akemi to give him the money, but she revealed that she doesn't have it but place it in a safe place, which she will reveal once she leaves Japan, but Okita told her that her being alive was never part of the plan and instead plans to shoot her at gun point, even telling her that he knows where the money is and will retrieve it once he did the deed.

Luckily Conan arrived and used his Power-Enhancing Kick Shoes to kick a large can into Okita's body, knocking him out but also caused him to shoot Akemi in the shoulder. Afterwards she revealed that Okita was the mastermind of the 1 billion Yen Robbery Case and explains that after the criminals he recruited did the bank robberies, he would kill the recruits to not only get the money for himself but erase any link to him so it wouldn't be trace back to him, which she thought were just rumors. This explain why Kenzo took the money for himself so he wouldn't get killed, only to be killed by Akira Hirota (pretending to be his brother) when he strangled him and made it look like he killed himself.

Just as the police arrived at the site, Okita come to and attempted to shoot Akira again when she told Conan the whereabouts of the money, but Conan used his shoes again and kicked the same can, this time knocking him in the face and knocked him out completely. He was later seen being arrested along with Akemi, who thanked Conan and called him "Little Detective".

Trivia[]

Okita is an anime only character and never appeared in the manga. In the original manga, it was actually Gin and Vodka who were the masterminds of the 1-billion-yen robber, and unlike Okita, they manage to kill her, which led her to reveal the existence of the Black Organization.
