The Old One is a major antagonist and the penultimate boss of the 2025 video game, Doom: The Dark Ages.
He was one of the Lovecraftian entities who were fallen gods of the Cosmic Realm that was deceased for a long time before he was brought back by Ahzrak as part of the pact between Hell and the Cosmic Realm. Stripped from his divinity, he was granted a new purpose to fight against the Night Sentinels as an augmented cyborg.

Past[]
This particular Old One was one of the gods of the Cosmic Realm who originally rule the dimension before eventually withering as they decay and become extinct. To bring the Old Ones back from the dead, Ahzrak and the Witch have form a pact to combine their unholy alliance, forming a union between Hell and the Cosmic Realm, this doing so resurrected the Old Ones in the process. In spite of this, the Old One himself was eventually captured and corrupted by Ahzrak's hell priests into a demonic version of his former self and augmented with Hell's technology to become a cybernetic titan.
Doom: The Dark Ages[]
With the Old Ones have brought back to the extinction thanks to the Slayer using the Maykr Tether Core destroying them but the Old One that became a demon still remains. The Old One later joins Ahzrak's assault with a legion of Titans to invade the Sentinel Stronghold under Ahzrak's leadership of the invasion. The Doom Slayer's operating Novik's Atlan, fought his way through the Titans and meets face to face with the Old One who is prepared to fight against the Slayer. During the battle, the Old One will performed a combined use of its sorcery and augmentations to fight against the Doom Slayer but eventually the Doom Slayer manages to keep on going with the battle.
After the brutal fight, the Old One meet his end as he was slain by the Doom Slayer and both the Witch and Ahzrak soon met their end by the marine afterwords, putting an end to the alliance.
Trivia[]
- It is likely implied that he and the other Old Ones are the star offspring of Cthulhu though this remains unconfirmed.
- In comparison to the rest of the bosses, the Old One is rather an actual easy boss for the player to fight against no matter what difficulty the campaign is set.
