Olhydra, also known as the Princess of Evil Water and the Crushing Wave, is a major antagonist in Dungeons & Dragons franchise. She is a powerful archomental from the Elemental Plane of Water and the patron deity of the Cult of the Crushing Wave led by Gar Shatterkeel.
Biography[]
Like her bitter rivals, Imix, Ogrémoch and Yan-C-Bin, Olhydra is force of destruction herself. In her natural state, she appeared as a huge cresting wave with two eyes like large pearls or as a shapeless watery mass about 20 ft (6.1 m) in diameter.
Out of every archomentals, Olhydra is arguably the calmest and most malicious one, and the only archomental that has shows interest upon humanity. She enjoys unleashing her power to destroy vessels and ships in her realms, and destroy any city and town within her reach.
Unlike her rivals, Olhydra also has a solid moral agency and manipulates pirates and seafaring raiders to do her biddings, knowing they are the worst humans that paints the ocean red and occationally drops treasure into her clutches.
Her actions so far include, but not limited to creating a structure known as the Fountain of Delights as her beacon to cause a tidal wave via the Cult of Crushing Wave's activities around the Blackdagger Ruins (shown in Neverwinter Online), creating a new place known as the Drowned Shore, where her nod of water is set.
Under Olhydra's command, Gar Shatterkeel deployed a sacrifical ritual upon an aquatic elf in order to summon another Destruction Orb to create a second tidal wave that would kill thousands of lives.
Appearance[]
Olhydra takes the form of a twenty foot tall wave of dark green water with her only visible facial features being two glowing green pearls for her eyes.
Personality[]
Olhydra took full pleasure in destroying settlements with her waves. While she could tirelessly and relentlessly make destructive moves, she could afford to be patient and somewhat wise, attacking her target at the right time. She was more interested in mortals than the other archomentals, as pirates could carry on her reign of terror for her. She even saw them as agents.
