Omar (Garfield)

Omar is the main antagonist of The Garfield Show episode, Wicked Wishes. He is an evil genie; he expects others to grant his own wishes. He can be brought back into the bottle, however, by tricking him into saying his name backwards: Ramo.

He was voiced by Gregg Berger.

Biography[]

Omar's bottle is found by Odie on the beach. At first, the ignorant Garfield and the obtuse Jon are not interested and throw it in the dustbin, but after thinking about the word "desires", they rush to take it back and fight over it. Jon thinks that with those wishes he would become filthy rich, he would be famous and have a lot of fame, Garfield on the other hand only thinks of trillions of lasagnas.

Back home, the three read an article on the internet about good and bad genes, but Garfield isn't interested and makes Jon open the bottle, only at first it seems like there's nothing inside, but then Omar and Jon come out. prepares to fulfil his wishes. However, it is Omar who gets the upper hand and sets Jon up to grant him wishes, threatening to turn him into a frog. Garfield asks them why he does this and Omar replies simply because they like to be waited on, and Garfield replies that he understands.

Omar's first wish is granted food, and Jon orders tons of lasagna from Vito, much to Garfield's dismay. Then as a second wish dancers and Jon asks Liz for a favor and as a last wish, Omar wishes for Jon to serve him for eternity, leaving Jon trapped in Omar's clutches. When Omar makes ridiculous demands, Jon refuses, which results in him being turned into a frog.

Garfield and Odie, desperate, go back upstairs to review that article where it was written how to stop an evil genie and they discover that they have to make them say his name backwards and then they will have a wish.

Garfield, devising a way, goes to Vito with Odie and ask them to rewrite his menu specifically for them which is part of Garfield's plan. A hungry and angry Omar threatens to turn someone into an aardvark and Garfield shows them the menu with Omar saying he wants everything on the menu and saying it out loud. Among them is the "Ramo" and Omar asks what is confusing, and when Garfield reveals to them that it is his name backwards, Omar is shocked and furious by this and is sucked into his bottle while angrily screaming to turn Garfield and Odie in snails.

With Omar gone Garfield, he wishes for everything to go back to the way it was that morning. However, it is later revealed that the wish backfired, simply only rewinding time to the start of the episode and causing an infinite timeloop.
