“ | According to Wadiyan propaganda, Haffaz Aladeen was born in 1973. He did not know his mother, who died in child birth. General Aladeen was born the only son of the colonel Aladeen himself, the violent and savage dictator. | „ |
~ The news covering the background for Aladeen and his father. |
Omar Aladeen is the overarching villain of the 2012 film The Dictator.
Omar Aladeen is an oppressive dictator who is the father to the films main protagonist, Admiral General Aladeen along with the brother of the film's main antagonist, Tamir Aladeen. He was a cruel and oppressive dictator of the fictional land of Wadiya, who constantly abused his brother but promised him to be the next in line before backstabbing him and making his son the next dictator. He is well liked by his son, Aladeen, despite him dying when Aladeen was only 7. He is also known for wanting the doctor to murder his wife shortly after she gave birth and labeled the death as "child birth."
He was portrayed by Sayed Badreya, who also played Abu Bakaar in Iron Man, Rameses in Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.
Personality[]
Just like Admiral General Aladeen, he was shown to be ruthless, narcissistic, selfish, and borderline psychopathic. He seemed to have been slightly better than his son in some ways since Wadiyans liked him much more but still was very abusive to his brother and wife. He was also said to be a "savage dictator." Not much is known about Omar since he died before the events of the movie but since his son is very ruthless and misogynist we can only assume he was a bad influence to him but was likely more intelligent.
Trivia[]
- There is little to no mentions of him outside of the first 5 minutes of the film and is never seen anywhere throughout the movie.
- It was never specified the causes of his death.
