Omar is impatient, domineering and short-tempered, being used to leveraging his influence against others. His ability to hold a civil demeanor often breaks down if the situation does not exactly go his way. Biography[]
Season 3[]
Omar makes his first appearance in person dining in his private jet while meeting with his laundering agents Wendy Byrde and Helen Pierce, giving them two minutes to discuss legitimate businesses as financial safety nets for his family in case he is arrested by the FBI or killed by the Lagunas. When the two minutes are up, he cuts off Wendy's statement as she mentions a trial in which another crime boss' children were forced to testify against him, before Navarro dismisses the two, taking their arguments into consideration.
Omar continues to work alongside Helen Pierce to make sure that the Byrdes are following his orders and making his demands come true. As the Byrdes continue to rise up in power, Navarro begins to place his trust in Wendy Byrde as he notices that she is willing to work alongside him unlike her husband Marty. At one point, Navarro has Marty kidnapped and brought to his base in Mexico to ask him what he is doing against Wendy. Navarro has Marty imprisoned and tortured until Marty agreed to work along with him without any resistance. At one point, Wendy tries to negotiate with Navarro until he furiously reminds her that they were not equals and that she was his pawn. Helen Pierce becomes distrustful of the Byrdes and tries to work heavily in favor of Navarro. During the season finale, Helen, Marty, and Wendy flies to Mexico to meet with Navarro. Without hesitation, Navarro kills Helen and picks Marty and Wendy as his close minions to work along with. Navarro hugs a terrified Marty and Wendy after they witnessed Navarro's killing.
Season 4[]
After the Byrdes wash off Helen's blood, Navarro praises the Byrdes for their accomplishments. He met with Wendy and Marty after a party to tell them that his goal is to have them find a way to get out of his business as a crime lord and live in peace without the possibility of getting assassinated or arrested. He adds that he would also like the power to travel from the United States to Mexico freely and to not face any punishment for his role in all the crimes he committed. The Byrdes think his goal is impossible to achieve, but Navarro states that he wants it done and that it is the reason they are both still alive.
Navarro works closely alongside Marty and Wendy. He also talks with his nephew, Javier Elizondro Navarro. Javier is interested in gaining power within the cartel which comes into conflict with Navarro. At one point, Navarro punches Javier in the face during an argument about the Byrde's actions. Later on, Navarro organizes a meeting with an FBI agent, Maya Miller, where he lays out his goals. Miller states that she will not allow him to get what he wants until he gives up what he has and possibly face punishment for the crimes he committed before Navarro allows her to leave. Navarro presses the Byrdes to do what he wants as he thinks of a plan. Navarro allows the FBI to seize Javier's weapons. As the Byrdes continue to gain more political power they would need to serve Navarro's goals, one of the trucks that Navarro has the FBI seized had a bomb which injured about four agents. As a result of this action, the FBI thinks Navarro was behind the attack. The FBI made a deal with Marty and Wendy Byrde where they had to prove that Navarro was not behind the attack. The Byrdes work to try and prove Navarro's innocence and suspected that the attack was orchestrated by Javier. Navarro meets with Javier about the attack where after some exchanges reassures his nephew that they will both have power.
After some time passed and the Byrdes gained more political power, Navarro met with the high ranking FBI officials to discuss his terms of getting out his criminal business without facing prison time for his crimes. The officials told Navarro that he acts as a double agent for them for the next five years and he provides them information. They stated that after five years, they will consider having him live the life he wants without the possibility of any criminal prosecution or prison time for the crimes he committed. Navarro wanted a change to the terms, the FBI did not budge with their deal. Navarro left the meeting and was angry at the terms they proposed. Navarro attempts to go on his plane to fly back to Mexico, but was intercepted by Agent Miller and the police. Navarro was taken by them and arrested and placed in jail. Navarro's arrest resulted in many news outlets reporting on it and infuriated his nephew, Javier. The Byrdes rush to try and find a solution to Navarro's problem since they did not think that Agent Miller would arrest Navarro. Wendy meets with Navarro in prison to tell him that she will find a way to fix his problem and to tell Javier about his new role with the FBI. Navarro tells her that she better be honest or he will have one of his men kill her. Navarro made the phone call to his nephew. Wendy encourages the FBI officials to make a deal with Javier in order to find a solution to the problem. The FBI officials reluctantly agreed to the new plan and made the deal with Javier instead.
