Omega Sentinel real name Karima Shapandar is a major figure in Marvel Comics X-Men. She was a superhero who was transformed into a cyborg with Sentinel programming and was struggling to maintain her humanity but in the current X-Men stories set on Krakoa she would go back to her programming and become the leader of Orichis. She becomes the main antagonist of the Krakoa X-Men era.

History[]

Karima Shapandar was just a normal successful detective in India, hired to protect the young boy named Neal after his older brother went missing. Neal and Karima would grow closer and even shared their first kiss but they were attacked by Bastion and his Prime Sentinels. Neal's brother Sanjit was transformed into a cyborg against his will and begged his brother and Karima to run before his programming killed him. Karima discovered she too was a Prime Sentinel and told Neal to run as Bastion had converted humans into his sleeper agents against their will.

Even though she was a Prime Sentinel she didn't hunt down mutants and Bastion's plans were shut down by S.H.I.E.L.D. Omega Setinal would later become a member of the Excalibur team to help them take down threats and would even become a member of the X-men. She would also become associated with the Supernovas and would also deal with Stryfe and the Acolytes. Omega Sentinel would later remain with the Acolytes and fight Arkea.

During the events of the Krakoa saga of the X-Men her mind would be take over by her alternate future self and she would later form Orchis as the secret leader of the anti-mutant squad leading the Sentinels and making Nimrod of earth 616 whom she fall in love with. In one future of Moira, she would manipulate Nimrod into slaughtering mutants.

Orchis eventually declare war on Krakoa and mutankind as a whole in Fall of X. At the final fight, Karima brain was stab by Pyslocke psychic blade, purge her of her sentinel mindset and regain her humanity which make her feel many regret and sadness of what her Sentinel self had done. She later join X-men fight of Nimrod and try to convince Nimrod to stop fighting, but to no avail. Nimrod meet his final end by combine power of Strom, Magneto, and Polaris. Thus put the end to Orchis organization.

Powers and abilities[]

Omega Sentinel being a Prime Sentinel posses superhuman strength, speed, stamina, and durability. Being made of metal, she is capable of forming weapons like blast cannons out of her hands and fly using her boots. She is also manipulative such as when she made Nimrod attack mutants.

Karima has appeared in the video game Marvel: Avengers Alliance as an unlockable character and even in Marvel Avengers Tactics as a playable character. She also becomes a playable character in the game Marvel Contest of Champions.
