Omni-Man II: Hey, these two giving you trouble?
Hood Mark: Fuck off! I got this.
Omni-Man II: Swearing doesn’t make you cool.
~ Omni-Man II to Hood Invincible.
I've always hated you.
~ Omni-Man II to Atom Eve before trying to kill her — His most famous quote.

Markus Sebastian "Mark" Grayson, also known as Omni-Man II, is a supporting antagonist in the Image Comics comic series Invincible and a major antagonist in its animated adaptation of the same name.

In his dimension, he would murder his own father and take his identity, wearing an Omni-Man color scheme suit. He would fight in the Invincible War, but his comic and show counterparts would have very different outcomes.

The comic counterpart would fight ShadowHawk and Madman, but ultimately die. His other counterpart would help Hood Invincible in a 2v2 against Invincible and Atom Eve. He ended up being one of the lucky 8 of the Evil Invincibles who survive to Day 3 but get stranded in the wasteland.

He is voiced by Steven Yeun, who also played all the other Team Evil Invincible, A. Traveler in The Twilight Zone, Ricky "Jupe" Park in Nope, Danny Cho in Beef.

Appearance[]

His suit appears to be a combination of those of the mainstream Invincible and Omni-Man. He is dressed in a complete bodysuit, in which the upper section is adorned in white while the lower section showcases a vibrant red color. It is worth mentioning that he adorns white boots, which are embellished with a solitary red highlight positioned at their center. In contrast, his gloves exhibit an inverse color scheme. To finalize his attire, he adorns himself with a scarlet cape. The attire showcases a prominent elongated crimson highlight embellishing its core, where a scarlet "O", symbolizing the titular individual, is prominently displayed. He also wears black goggles. His hair also appears to be spikier than that of the mainstream Invincible.

Biography[]

Background[]

Mark was born with Viltrumite powers, and exclusively trained by Nolan, going through hordes of training, and became ready enough to help the empire.

It is believed that Omni-Man II worshiped Nolan so much and wanted to be just like him. Eventually, he would end up killing Nolan and take his name and color scheme.

He also hated the Atom Eve of his dimension and possibly killed her (Show Only)

Invincible War[]

Omni-Man II would be recruited by Angstrom Levy to go to the main universe and tarnish the name "Invincible" there.

From this point on, Omni-Man II will have very different outcomes.

Comics[]

Comic Omni-Man II isn't shown much, but he would fight ShadowHawk and Madman on Day 2 of the Invincible War. After a long unseen fight, Mark would ultimately die by getting his neck broken by Madman's yo-yo and end his reign of terror.

TV Series[]

On Day 2, Show Omni-Man II would go help Hood Mark deal with the Mainstream Mark and Atom Eve. Hood Mark told him to go fuck off and said he's got it, but Omni-Man II help anyway and told him "Swearing doesn't make you cool." The two Marks would have an intense 2v2, with Omni-Man II charging at Eve but stopped by Main Mark. The three Marks would fight for a short while, getting thrown around by the cape and being flung into an exploding building. At the end, Omni-Man II would charge at Eve again and manage to break her leg, nearly tearing it off and rendering her unconscious. He would tell Main Mark that he can't both save Eve and fight the two Marks at the same time. In the end, a horde of ReAnimen are sent into the battlefield and hold off the two while Main Mark escapes with Eve. Off-screen, Omni-Man II survives the ReAnimen and would lay waste to Tokyo later.

Show Omni-Man II would make it to the surviving 8 where him and the other survivors would meet at the Grayson Household, which he hates revisiting. Angstrom would then arrive to the scene and congratulate the Marks on the job they did, stating how the people of the main dimension will fear and hate Invincible because of their doings. Angstrom then ordered to bring Mark to him in person, but Sinister Mark would refuse this order and spark a mutiny. Angstrom, disappointed, would send them to the wasteland dimension to starve and cannibalize each other.

Trivia[]

  • Omni-Man II in the show would replace the role of Kneepad Invincible, the variant who leveled Tokyo on day 3 before being banished to the Wasteland Universe by Angstrom Levy.
  • Omni-Man II's comic counterpart would be ridiculed because of how he ironically dies to a yo-yo while claiming to have killed Omni-Man. (although apparently Madman's yo-yo is capable of destroying buildings and has the power of a thousand suns, so the embarrassment is lessened) His animated counterpart, however, was one of the eight surviving alternate Invincibles left.
  • In a sense, he can be considered the "inverse" of mainstream Mark, given the blue suit was designed to possess the opposite colors of Omni-Man's.
  • His waist in the show is identical to Kneepad Invincible (and comic Cowl Invincible).
  • His waist design in the comics change between panels.
