Omnipotus is a minor antagonist in the Image Comics series Invincible and its animated adaptation of the same name.
He first appears in Issue #27, where he fights multiple superheroes on Earth. At the mean time, Invincible is on Thraxa, where he meets with his dad Nolan Grayson. On Earth, Omnipotus arrogantly boasts his plans to destroy the universe in front of the superheroes.
He is voiced by Ross Marquand, who also voices Rudy Connors, Kursk, and Bi-Plane in the same series.
Biography[]
Issue #27[]
Omnipotus introduces himself as a major threat towards Earth by explaining that he will reshape the world and that the superheroes should tremble at his mighty powers. The superheroes of Earth tell Omnipotus that the latter made a mistake by attacking Earth. Cecil Stedman is using his teleporter from the Global Defense Agency to teleport multiple superheroes around the world to fight Omnipotus. Donald notes that teleporting multiple heroes to Omnipotus will cause a fortune, but Cecil does not care. The teleported superheroes arrive in the battle field to fight Omnipotus and Donald reveals that he is a cyborg to Rex Splode.
The superheroes gang up on Omnipotus, but Omnipotus plays with the superheroes and does not take them seriously. Omnipotus tells the superheroes that he will reshape the world on his own image by draining the energy of the universe. Omnipotus thinks that the superheroes are far too incompetent to stop him as he considers the superheroes to be his toys. Omnipotus declares his invincibility towards the superheroes by boasting his plan to reshape the Earth and by turning the rubble and buildings into monsters. Atom eve is able to catch Rex Splode form the rubble Omnipotus had created and they both destroy the monsters that Omnipotus had created.
Monster Girl tries to hurt Omnipotus by attacking him with laser rays, but Omnipotus finds them to be tickling. Monster Girl transforms into her monstrous form to fight Omnipotus better. While Monster Girls attacks Omnipotus, Robot and Tech Jacket were able to steal a warp key from Omnipotus's warp vessel. Robot and Tech Jacket now need to power the warp key to defeat Omnipotus. Omnipotus tells the superheroes that they should surrender to him as it is a futile fight before Omnipotus notices a portal behind him.
Omnipotus is able to realize that the superheroes are going to send him back to the universe he belongs to. Unfortunately Tech Jacket is unable to keep the portal stable as he does not have enough power. Omnipotus mocks Tech Jacket for his futile efforts until Black Samson arrives in the battle field. Black Samson explains that he came to the battle field with Cecil teleporting him there. The Superheroes are surprised to find out that Black Samson has waken from his coma from Battle Beast. Black Samson in his empowered state is able to push Omnipotus into the portal.
Omnipotus declares that he will return, but Black Samson makes sure that Omnipotus will never come back by crushing the warp key of Omnipotus.
Issue #33[]
Omnipotus makes a brief cameo appearance, where he punches Invincible during the latter's fight with Angstrom Levy.
Issue #87[]
Omnipotus is able to return to Earth wreak havoc on the planet again. Omnipotus explains that in his first attempt to take over Earth, Omnipotus believes he only failed because he was in his weakened form. This time Omnipotus has come back for revenge and has prepared himself by draining the energy of the universe he is in for months before he prepares to fight the superheroes of Earth again. This time Omnipotus has succeeded in beating the superheroes of Earth, that is until Invincible and Dinosaurus arrive on the scene to fight Omnipotus.
Invincible is angry towards Dinosaurus for not informing him of the arrival of Omnipotus and Dinosaurus explains that it would have been better if they had both continued watching the news for the greater good. Dinosaurus informed Invincible of the arrival of Omnipotus when Dinosaurus felt the threat of Omnipotus. Omnipotus prepares himself to slaughter Invincible and Dinosaurus and Omnipotus boasts his feats towards the two of them to give fear to his attackers. Omnipotus believes himself to be unstoppable against Invincible and Dinosaurus until his head is crushed by the jaws of Dinosaurus.
Personality[]
Upon arriving to Earth, Omnipotus is shown to be very boastful towards his skills and plans for Earth. Omnipotus loves to revel in his villainy and makes no attempt to hide his true nature in front of the superheroes. When the superheroes appose him, Omnipotus believes them to be wasting their time and that it would be better to give up and surrender to him. Omnipotus is quite arrogant towards his powers as he constantly boasts on how they work against his enemies. Omnipotus will proclaim his Invincibility to how much energy he has absorbed from his universe and the universe of Invincible.
Unfortunately due to his overconfidence towards his powers, Omnipotus underestimates his enemies which results in defeat in the first battle and death in the second round.
Powers And Abilities[]
- Energy Absorption: Omnipotus is able to absorb the energy from his universe and Invincible's universe to become stronger.
- Invulnerability: Omnipotus is able to take no damage from multiple superheroes. Omnipotus even notes that lasers feel tickilish to him.
- Reality Manipulation: Omnipotus is able to warp reality to create monsters made of building rubble.
- Superhuman Strength: Omnipotus can hurt multiple superheroes by punching them and grabbing them. Omnipotus is also able to lift heavy buildings.
- Superhuman Endurance: Omnipotus can survive multiple blows from superheroes. Omnipotus is even able to battle Invincible and Dinosaurus for a while before he is killed by them.
- Transmutation: Omnipotus claims that he can reshape the world into his own image by his powers alone.
