Opera is one of secondary antagonists (alongside Morris Worm) of the Merryweather webcomic Internet Explorer. She is an Internet Browser who was the unwitting right-hand of Google Chrome.
Biography[]
Opera was an internet browser originally manufactured by the Chinese-owned Norwegian software company Opera Software AS. For whatever reason, Opera needed Chromium OS to survive and as such, she met up with Google Chrome Chan at some point and made an alliance with her. Despite her master's ruthlessness, Opera seemed at first to still have some standards primarily when she watches Google Chrome torture and drain Bing of her RAM and questions her on whether it was even necessary. However, she immediately is silenced when Google Chrome threatens to do the same to her by revoking her access to her Chromium OS.
After Bing is seemingly murdered, Internet Explorer returns from the Deep Web as Microsoft Edge and goes to confront Google Chrome. Along the way, she is met by Opera who had apparently rebelled against Google Chrome, and the two go to thwart her. When Google Chrome mockingly tells Internet Explorer Chan that she had murdered Bing, Opera catches Microsoft Edge off her guard and stabs her with a blade made of Chromium. She then tauntingly tells the wounded Microsoft Edge that it was the Age of Google now.
