~ Organic Mechanic introducing himself to Immortan Joe. |
The Organic Mechanic is a supporting antagonist in the 2015 post-apocalyptic action movie Mad Max: Fury Road and a supporting character in the 2024 prequel Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
He is the medic of the War Boys. He is responsible for all medical procedures conducted in the Citadel.
He was portrayed by Angus Sampson, who also played Jutt in Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, Bear Gerhardt in Fargo and Titus in Benji.
History[]
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga[]
The man known only as the Organic Mechanic, who due to his medical expertise, was a highly esteemed member of the Horde, a gathering of various biker gangs under the leadership of Dementus. When Furiosa is brought before the warlord, the Mechanic is able to discern she is a full-life - one free from disease and perfect health; thus Dementus adopts the young girl to replace the child he lost in the Fall.
The Horde attempt to siege the Citadel of the Cult of the V8, however, Immortan Joe's defenses were too strong and the danger of his mindlessly devoted war boys pushed them away.
Dementus changes plans, so infiltrates Gastown, holding it and its fuel from Immortan Joe. During the negotiation, Joe is willing to appoint Dementus as Lord Protector of Gastown, as well as sharing rations with the Horde; however, he adds the condition that Dementus surrender the Organic Mechanic and Furiosa to him. Dementus agreed, therefore Furiosa is put into Joe's harem, waiting until she hits puberty, while the Mechanic becomes chief doctor for Joe, obstetrician for Joe's harem, and in charge of medical care for the half-life war boys.
Mad Max: Fury Road[]
The Organic Mechanic was one of the people who took part in the pursuit of Imperator Furiosa, Max Rockatansky and the War Rig.
After Splendid Angharad was run over by Immortan Joe, Organic Mechanic was tasked by Joe with performing a surgery to save his infant child. However, the Organic Mechanic was unable to extract the child in time and as a result the baby died.
He later disposed of the baby boy and can be seen playing with its umbilical cord in the background.
Though not shown on screen, the Organic Mechanic tortured and killed Ms. Giddy when she refused to give up information on the wives.
A deleted scene also sees him being left behind during the final chase.
