Orin J. Ruffy is a minor antagonist in the SpongeBob SquarePants episode "The Great Patty Caper" and the main antagonist of the short "What if the Mystery Ended This Way…?"
He is a criminal who disguises himself as a porter/butler and a policeman and is wanted for the theft of $75k worth of ham sandwiches.
In "The Great Patty Caper", he was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker. In "What if the Mystery Ended This Way…?", he was voiced by Rodger Bumpass.
Biography[]
In "The Great Patty Caper", SpongeBob and Patrick board a train to get to the bank and retrieve the Krabby Patty secret formula, however, at the key to the vault that the formula is stored in get stolen at some point, so SpongeBob and Patrick have to find out who the culprit is.
They search Plankton for the key after he walks up to them, only to find him to be clean. They then proceed to stop the train so that they can find the culprit. The first suspect that they search is a nanny and her baby, however, they end up finding a diamond instead. It's then revealed that the nanny and baby were actually the Jewel Triplets Gang, who are wanted for stealing Neptune's jewel of the sea. The triplets are then arrested and taken to jail.
The next suspect they search is the butler, who is revealed to actually be the criminal named Orin J. Ruffy, who is wanted for stealing $75k worths of ham sandwiches. Ruffy then gets arrested and sent to jail offscreen.
In "What if the Mystery Ended This Way…?", a cop pulls of a fish's mask to reveal that they're Orin J. Ruffy in disguise, only to end up finding Squidward instead. He then pulls off the fish's mask again and finds Sandy, and then he does it again and finds Patrick. He then pulls off the fish's mask one more time and finds SpongeBob, however, SpongeBob proceeds to pull off the cop's mask and reveals that the cop was actually Orin J. Ruffy the entire time.
