~ Orson to the AI in Alma's House |
Orson Mills is a minor antagonist of the HITMAN 2 mission "Nightcall" and the HITMAN 3 missions "Untouchable" and "Shadows in the Water". He is Alma Reynard's boyfriend and right-hand man and later a Providence operative.
He was voiced by Derek Hagen. who also voiced Censor, Blair Reddington, Ajit "AJ" Krish & Blake Nathaniel in the same game & Noel Crest, Agent Montgomery & Jack Roe in HITMAN III.
Role[]
Little is known about Orson Mills, aside from details that are provided in Alma Reynard's biography. He was a former CICADA mercenary and a point man for the Private Militia, led by the mysterious Shadow Client (real name Lucas Grey). Sometime before Sean Rose's assassination by Agent 47, he began an affair with Alma, who was in a relationship with Rose.
At the time of the latter's death, Orson and Alma worked together to kidnap the family of Lance Donovan to force him to murder his boss, Providence operative Rupert Pierce. They retire to their beachfront home.
Orson makes his first appearance in the mission walking through the front door. He complains when the house's A.I. greets him as a guest before turning off the television. Alma asks him to make her some tea while she threatens Lance Donovan.
After Alma drinks down the tea, she and Orson walk up to the bedroom. As the duo strip down in the dressing room, Orson complains about the A.I. system and Alma teases him by suggesting she change the A.I. to greet him as "Sean 2" after her late boyfriend. Alma brushes her teeth while Orson takes a shower. After leaving the bathroom, they watch a news report on Rupert Pierce's death, proving that their mission was successful.
The two then go out to the balcony to smoke cigarettes. Alma reveals that he has been picked to meet with Kronstadt and buy drones and other equipment. Orson is annoyed when he realises that he was picked rather than Alma due to the Shadow Client considering him expendable, but accepts it to keep Alma safe. The two then tuck themselves into bed, Alma continuing to tease him before she nods off. Alma was found dead the next day, assassinated by 47.
After Grey secretly joined forces with Agent 47 and Diana Burnwood, he ordered his second-in-command, Noel Crest, to cease all militia operations until further instructions. Crest instead usurped Grey and took full control of the militia himself, planning to make them a heist crew, and appointed Orson as his second-in-command. They attempted to steal an Ether satellite unit but Crest was assassinated by 47 and the militia was disbanded. Working freelance, Orson robbed a money transport in Belgium, but was caught and arrested.
He is later mentioned in a phone call by Arthur Edwards, having been captured by Providence. Edwards instructs his contact to interrogate Orson for information. A Providence member in the Mendoza vineyard mentions to her friend that Orson had been recruited into Providence as a guard.
Orson makes his final appearance as a guard aboard the train in Untouchable. Whether 47 canonically kills him is unknown, as Orson, along with everyone else on the train, is an optional target that can be killed with no penalty (while he will not attain a Silent Assassin rank, he can still achieve five stars as long as he leaves no witnesses).
Trivia[]
- Despite being noted as a CICADA mercenary and point man, Orson is unarmed and will flee if alerted in Nightcall. However, he is armed as part of the Constant's security team in his reappearance.
- Orson is the subject of "The Mills Reverie", where he is to be knocked out and terrorised by 47 dressed up as a pumpkin-headed scarecrow. The trailer shows him dreaming it in bed with Alma, implying that he dreamt it, likely on the day that Alma died.
- He will weep and cry if you kill Alma in front of him. Despite that, he will just fear for his life and not actually grieve if he finds Alma dead like most non-target NPCs.
