Orteca, real name Makoto Hatsushiba, is a leading executive of the Deadmans and a major antagonist in Kamen Rider Revice. He also appears as a minor antagonist in Kamen Rider Saber.
He serves as second-in-command and advisor to the cult's figurehead Aguilera while planning to use her as the sixth sacrifice to revive Giff, the pagan god of the Deadmans.
As the cult's chief executive, Orteca hands out Vistamps on behalf of Aguilera for the purpose finding ideal candidates to become Gifftexes. Secretly, Orteca was just using Aguilera as a figurehead to gather people behind and intended to use her as the final sacrifice to reawaken Giff while keeping the true nature of the wedding ritual a secret from her. He would later obtain the Giff Stamp thanks to the actions of the Chameleon Deadman.
After the Deadmans Base was stormed by Fenix, Orteca was able to reform the Deadmans and rally them behind the Giff Stamp. He would begin using the Giff Stamp to create Gifftarians to replace humanity as a form of natural selection.
Using the Daiouika Proto Vistamp, Orteca can transform into the Daiouika Deadman. He later obtains the Demons Driver and uses it to transform into Kamen Rider Demons. He briefly fuses with Giff to become the Phase 4 Anomalocaris Deadman.
In Kamen Rider Juuga VS Kamen Rider Orteca, Orteca gains a new Rider form as Kamen Rider Orteca.
He is portrayed by Hayata Seki.
Appearance[]
Orteca wears a green mariachi-style outfit with golden embroidery and black boots. His Daiouika Deadman has a black body with multicolored tentacles stretching down the right side and a white hood pulled over his head.
While in disguise, Orteca typically wears a black coat and bowler hat.
Personality[]
Orteca is a gifted public speaker, evidenced by the speech he gives at the Deadmans concert to rally their followers. When approaching to targets for Vistamps, he typically speaks to them very cordially and attempts to persuade them to accept the Vistamp willingly, rather than use force. He also makes an effort to be on good terms with the other Deadmans He appears to have a bit of a playful side as well, joking to his boss about her love for Giff. He also seems to be very loyal to Aguilera alongside Julio, seeking to provide her with offerings for her to create Deadmen from. However, this is but an act and Orteca has very little respect for her, viewing her as a figurehead whose purpose is to be sacrificed to usher in Giff's revival. He also keeps Aguilera's actual role in the sacrifice a secret from her, only telling her when all the Gifftex are assembled.
Olteca has a very cold and ruthless side to his personality. He turned Julio's former friend Yosuke into a Gifftarian to punish him for his defiance, all while shooting him a gleeful smirk. Prior to this, he mocked Ikki for being unable to save another person that had been turned into a Gifftarian in order to provoke him into fighting him.

- Orteca's Deadman form as the Daiouika Deadman is a reference to Dr. Shinigami/Ikadevil from the original Kamen Rider series.
- His form as Kamen Rider Demons meanwhile is a reference to the Marvel Comics hero Spider-Man, as well as Man Spider, the first monster fought by Kamen Rider.
- Because Spiderman: No Way Home came out in 2021, the year Revice first broadcast, many fans have joke about Orteca being Andrew Garfield's Spiderman. However, Andrew's portrayal in No Way Home has received critical acclaim, while Orteca was hated by the fanbase more after his action against humanity.
