Get your paws off my holy of holies!
~ Mr. Lomax's first and most famous quote when he meets Michael Fry.
JUST BECAUSE I'M BLIND THAT DOESN'T MAKE ME STUPID!
~ Lomax outraged after being tricked in a lazy manner.

Oscar Lomax (real name Tony Hancock) is one of the tritagonists of the psychological horror, mystery sitcom show Psychoville. He is an eccentric, elderly, eyeless millionaire and a proud collector of Beanie Babies (AKA his priceless commodities) often going to extreme lengths to ensure said collection is completed to its best standard.

He was portrayed by Steve Pemberton who also played David Sowerbutts, Hattie and Dr. Friedrich Ehrlichmann in the same series as well as Tubbs Tattsyrup, Pauline Campbell-Jones, Harvey Denton, Pop, Herr Lipp and Lemuel in The League of Gentlemen, Eddie, Graham, Mr. Clarke, Professor Squires, Adrian and Galen in Inside No. 9 and one third of the Vogons in the 2005 film adaptation of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Psychoville Season Two[]

Personality[]

Lomax is an eccentric, cranky but still friendly old man with an extensive knowledge and love for toys, especially Beanie Babies the priceless commodities he is immensely protective of. He is also quite intelligent and strategic especially from a business perspective something which surprises many people due to his blindness much to his chagrin.

Due to his literal lack of eyes he often doesn't notice when things in his house go missing or when his food gets rotten which provides many problems for him, most famously perhaps when he constantly mistakes CLUB bars for his mobile phone.

Appearance[]

Lomax is an elderly man of average height with wispy long white hair that's bald at the top, rotten teeth and bad skin covered in different spots and boils. He has no eyes left having had them traded for "Sammy the Crocodile" with the Witches of Ebay, however when he gets a new pair in the non-canon Halloween special they are blue, instead he usually has two gaping holes in his face which he covers with a pair of UV blocking sunglasses. His regular attire consists of a quilted purple trenchcoat with a black collar and cuffs, a mustard coloured shirt, polka dot cravat, grey suspenders, black trousers and shoes and is always seen carrying his white mobility stick.

When he embraces his former self as Tony Hancock he has Tealeaf cut his hair shorter and puts a black bowler hat over the top of his bald spot while wearing a black traditional suit.

Trivia[]

  • Lomax was originally a character set to appear in The League of Gentlemen but was cut for unknown reasons, he was later reworked for Psychoville however.
  • Lomax was created after Steve Pemberton watched a documentary about Beanie Baby craze and thought it would be a funny idea to make a character about dark dealings within the community.
