Otabin is a minor antagonist in the 2020 TV series The Owl House. He is a corrupted children's story character mutated through drawings in his book by Edric Blight, serving as the main antagonist of the season 1 episode "Lost in Language."
He was voiced by Eden Riegel in his normal form, and by Fred Tatasciore in his corrupted form.
Biography[]
In "Lost in Language", Otabin was brought to life as a result of a phenomenon where the books in the Bonesborough Library became alive. Now a giant monster due to doodles being drawn in his book by both Edric and Emira Blight, he captured Amity before trying to sew her in a blank book, only for Luz to fend off Otabin and get captured herself. Unfortunately, the two managed to escape him and Amity broke out of her bindings as she takes the monster down while Luz was given a magical eraser to removing the doodles that defaced the character. Otabin reverts back to normal, and he is put pack into his book as soon as Luz closes the book, making him disappear.
Appearance[]
In his normal form, Otabin resembles a humanoid rabbit with pink fur, blue eyes, thick eyebrows, and large buckteeth; he wears only brown shorts and an olive-green cape. In his monster form, he is more bulkier and has longer teeth and claws.
Trivia[]
- Otabin's name is an anagram of the word "obtain", fitting his motivation to make friends by attempting to trap both Luz and Amity.
