Otto is the secondary antagonist of the 2002 direct-to-DVD animated Barbie film, Barbie as Rapunzel.
He’s Gothel's pet ferret that she uses both as a scarf and as a spy to monitor Rapunzel and her friends to keep an eye on her and warn her of what she is up to.
He was voiced by Peter Kelamis.

Otto is a brown ferret. Because of his fur, he blends in with Gothel's dress.
Personality[]
Otto appears as a cunning and intelligent servant. He’s able to never be seen by Rapunzel whenever he spies on her and is also sadistic in informing Gothel about it, because he loves his owner.
Role in the film[]
Otto is often seen wrapped around Gothel's neck like a scarf, as her most trusted assistant. While Rapunzel tries to talk to Gothel, Otto chases her away so she can make her "beauty nap". Like Gothel, he mistreats Rapunzel and her friends, especially Hobie, who he wants to eat. Otto follows Rapunzel when she discovers the secret passage to her village in her home kingdom, where she’s invited to a masquerade ball. With this information, Gothel decides to dress up as Rapunzel and go to the ball herself and Otto goes with her.
When Rapunzel arrives with his friends to save the day, Otto tries to eat Hobbie, only to be burned by Penelope who has learned to breathe fire. Ultimately Otto suffers the same defeat as his mistress, imprisoned forever in their tower under the same curse as Gothel, Otto becomes Gothel's servant and Rapunzel's replacement. And he no longer seems to love his mistress as much as he used to and he teases her about the way she talks about her while he makes her a cup of tea and her plate of biscuits.
Trivia[]
- Otto is quite similar to Pimm from Barbie in the Nutcracker and Brutus from Barbie in The 12 Dancing Princesses because they all share the same voice actor, Peter Kelamis. They are all small animals used as spies by the antagonists.
