Otto Silverhielm is the main antagonist of the 2023 miniseries Ondskan (English for: The Evil) which is a remake to the original movie from 2003.
He is the chairman of the student council at the private school Stjärnsberg, whom preserves peer education for all the students. However, he is not as sufficient as it seems, as he is a hypocritical abuser whom tortures his people for tad incidents or erroneous behaviour, especially one student; Erik Ponti, whom he seeks to harass as much as possible in order to get him expelled.
He is portrayed by Christian Fandago Sundgren.
Biography[]
Not much is known about Otto's past, except that he started at Stjärnsberg a little while back in and won a championship at the school, as the best swimmer.
When Erik Ponti is accessed to study at the school, he is immediatley condemned for entering the games room in the school residential (for not knocking) and is not greeted with welcome. Instead, Ponti is judged for not wearing a school uniform and not for knocking atthe door, when the door is open itself. Erik notices that Otto is very definite with he rules, like when a boy spilled water and utters the word 'f*ck', he immediatley is smahed twice in the head with a fork for swearing, despite Silverhielm himself swears as well.
He is also seen abusing a student by a telephone booth and getting a student to relinquish his time at Stjärnsberg, due to all the bullying. Further along, Ponti is incriminated to have smuggling cigarettes into his residential room mate Pierre Tanguy. Erik elucidates that the tobacco was Pierre's, but he is nullified and told by the council that he is acting mendacious, and is punished to work on a few weekends.
Erik is giving on probation where is faced bullying by the council. And another one where he is compelling to dig a whole for a cellar to be annexed, far out in the forest, with Otto giving intrikat details of how it supposed to be shaped. It turned out that all the digging was fatuous. Otto ordered him to fill the whole with the soil. Enraged, Erik imagines smashing Silverhielm's face with the spade. Luckily, he could handle his temper, for now.
One night, Ponti is elected to a fight in a square, outside of the school, where newbie students contend in a pugnacious fight against a member of the student council. And Ponti is against Silverhielm. The latter beats his adversary bloody, imbuing flashbacks of Ponti's stepfather. He fights back and quashes Otto's left eye, blinding it and sendning the latter to the medic.
Erik's actions may have improved for while, but it exacerbated later on. Marja (Erik's love interest) grew trepidations on Erik's belligerent behaviour and Otto started a knavish conspiracy on giving Ponti repercussions for the reputable actions he had attained after vanquishing him. And Ponti is put in a frustrating dilemma when the swimming championship of Stjärnsberg is about to occur. Erik Ponti is a good swimmer, so is Otto Silverheilm, and if Erik loses it he will be unanimously be disrespected around everyone at the school. Especially Tanguy will ensue repercussions.
As the contest occurs, Otto joins in the contest, despite not have signed up and his injured eye. Ponti wins the contest and became the new champion, much to Otto's jealousy and vengeance. In the diner hall, Otto speaks up about the students' abysmal behaviour. However, he recures the incident about finding tobacco in Tanguy & Ponti's room, and opts to punish Tanguy by hitting him in the head with a knife, and dragooning Ponti to omit the horrendous occurence and watch it.
During a sports activity Erik wins yet again for his strength and condition. The all the rumors that happened in the school were false. After Ponti won, his bestfriend was beaten up and sent to medical office. Later on, Pierre relinquishes Stjärnsberg and Erik is friendless.
Erik goes to the student council to talk to the bullies and wishes to speak up against Silverhielm for his heinous hypocrisy, but is knockad out uncounscious. Erik is tide on the ground and interrogated by Silverhielm about why he is the way he is. The entire school is hectored by Silverhielm to torture Ponti by pouring boiling hot water onto him, and Otto harassing him into standing up when he already is tied down. Otto even dragoons students whom are fond of Ponti to pour hot water onto him. He is abandoned to freeze in the cold night in the forest, but Marja intervenes and saves Ponti and they have a sexual encounter.
Sometime later, after Erik is recovered and resumes his studies, Marja bestows a letter to him about her feelings for him. Otto and his henchmen opens the letter before Erik has even opened it, and the head master is informed. This situation ousts Erik from Stjärnsberg. Seeking revenge on Silverhielm, Erik follows him to the horse lair and threatens to slash him to death with with a steel belt. It all turned out to be false as Ponti divulges he never intended to perish Silverhielm, instead only to traumatize him.
Erik, later, gets in touch with the lawyers and they are infromed with the illegal interference of Erik's letter. Otto is expelled without any rebuttal.
