The Ottoman Empire (Ottoman Turkish: دولت عليه عثمانيه; Modern Turkish: Osmanlı İmparatorluğu) are the secondary antagonists of the 2016 first-person shooter video game Battlefield 1 and playable main factions in its multiplayer mode.
Overview[]
The Ottoman Empire, established in 1299, was a vast and influential empire that held sway over significant territories in Asia Minor, the Balkans, and the majority of the Levant. However by the time of WW1 they were hardly an major imperial empire and more like a Jingoistic Aggressors, I say this since they lost a lot of territory due to Russia,Britian, and Italy. They are Jingoistic Aggressors since they did an unprovoked attack on Russia before they entered WW1. WW1 was also the final blow for the Ottomans as their slow and sad downfall would come to a pitiful end, only for Turkey to get established 1 year later after the dissolution of the empire.
In the early 20th century, the Ottoman Empire established an alliance with Germany and joined World War I as part of the Central Powers, alongside Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Bulgaria. They actively participated in various campaigns during the war, including the Sinai and Palestine Campaign, as well as the Mesopotamian Campaign, among others. However, following their defeat in the war, the victorious Allies divided the Ottoman Empire in 1919. Only the boundaries of modern-day Turkey remained under Ottoman control, marking the end of the empire's territorial dominance.
Minister of War Enver Pasha, Minister of the Navy Djemal Pasha, and Grand Vizier Talaat Pasha, who essentially governed the Empire during the war, were commonly referred to as the "Three Pashas." Although the Ottoman Empire had a monarch, he was nothing more than a figurehead at that time.
PLEASE NOTE (TL;DR The central powers AREN'T True Villans)[]
The Ottoman empire isn't technically an evil organization it is played off as one in this wiki. This is because they are the opposing team in the BF1 war stories, so please take this article with a grain of salt. In WW1 everyone was the bad guy. The Ottomans did want to suppress the arab revolts, and were very jignostic, however they can't be pointed out as the main villians entente were equally worse.
