Void is the main antagonist of the manga/anime series, Edens Zero. He was originally the Edens One, a ship built by Ziggy as a spare, in case anything were to happen to the Edens Zero, before serving as his main vessel in his conquest of destroying humanity.
However, what has been kept unknown for some time now was that the Edens One had been corrupted by Void's consciousness and came to oppose Ziggy's goals. Corrupting the Demon King into carrying out his will, he sought out to find Mother and bring about the extinction all of humanity in the universe.
Following the arrival of Universe 0, Void managed to acquire his own android body called the Over Nu Etherion Void, surpassing the might and power of Ziggy. In his final confrontation with Mother, he was revealed to be the unborn son of an alternate version of Shiki Granbell and Rebecca Blugarden that were sent 20,000 years in the future.
Personality[]
Void is the lingering consciousness of Ziggy and Rebecca's unborn son and due to this, he holds no attachment to either of his parents. Due to having no physical form, he granted the Edens One his own sentience, which is said to surpass the intelligence of both humanity and machines alike. As a result, he transformed it into his own vessel that harbors a strong hatred towards humanity, desiring nothing more than its extinction.
Void has shown to be a cruel, manipulative control freak, as he is willing to corrupt and enslave the likes of Ziggy into his pawns and force them to out his will. To ensure this, he utilizes brainwashing to manipulate Ziggy's memories into having him believe he was an evil conqueror that seeks to destroy humans.
In his confrontation with Shiki, Void elaborates his reason for his hatred towards humanity is because he views them to be an existence that only exists to destroy their own kind. He is convinced that all of humanity and their conflicts are the results of their emotion, love, believing it to be the breed of hatred and war. Because of this, Void desires to create a world only for machines and that his very will represents the universe as a whole.
