Pac-Man (or simply just Pac) is the secondary antagonist of the 2015 action-sci-fi-comedy film Pixels. He is an alien who takes on the form of the arcade character, who destroys New York.
Description[]
Pac-Man appears as a roughly 10 feet tall large voxel sphere with cartoon pie-shaped black eyes and a black mouth that slams shut similar to the 2d version of itself in the arcade game. His top of his eyes slant inward when he is angered.
Pac-Man despite having short screentime and no vocals has a definable personality. He at first appears as a bloodlusted, seemingly driven by instinct being as he seemingly charges through the streets of New York City with nothing but the intent to destroy the town and its inhabitants.
When confronted by the Mini Coopers, he stops in his tracks and seems even more complexed when Toru Iwatani leaves his Mini Cooper and claims to be his father, not bothering to kill the man and just biting the hand of Iwatani and watching him run away while the cutscene music plays seemingly in sadistic success.
When he is cornered by the Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde Mini Coopers, his eyes grow in fear and seemingly drops his jaw in either a failing threat or in defeat. He is killed by the Clyde Mini Cooper twice and seemingly in an act of revenge, tricks the Clyde Mini Cooper into crashing into a body of water. When Pac-Man consumes a Power Pellet and gains the ability to eat the Mini "Ghost" Coopers, he becomes angry and goes to not only destroy the vehicles but the drivers inside, attempting to kill Ludlow after destroying his Mini Cooper though is unsuccessful, dying to the Mini Cooper Clyde . Pac-Man like all the arcade identity assuming aliens, seems to enjoy recreating the game they are portraying as after biting the hand of Pac-Man's creator, he tauntingly and playfully chomps at the Mini Coopers, signifying the start of the "round" before running away from them. Pac-Man once again does this when the Mini Cooper Ghosts believe that he is cornered once again and he eats a power pellet. As the aliens are taking on the identity of pop culture characters sent to space, it seems as if the brief glimpses of anger or shock are the actual alien's personality showing and just like the humans trying to defeat his species' take over, is just playing a role. Pac-Man's determined nature undos him as after trying to eat Mini Cooper Blinky after eating a power pellet, he takes roughly 45 seconds too long, causing the Mini Cooper Blinky to return to normal and Pac-Man to bite down it, taking his final life and permanently killing the Pac-Man Alien.
Overall, Pac-Man is a murderous, usually in-character, destructive being.
Biography[]
When Sam saw Pac-Man is going to destroy New York, Professor Toru Iwatani, the creator of the Pac-Man arcade game, saw Pac-Man was going to kill everything. As such, the team drives modified Mini Coopers resembling Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde to face off against him.
When they find Pac-Man in the streets of the city, Toru tries to talk to him peacefully, but gets his hand bitten off. Sam, Eddie and Ludlow started chasing him across the streets. For the first time team successfully traps Pac-Man and defeats him, leaving two of his lives remaining. While they were trying to repeat the move, they get scammed by Pac-Man who ate a power pellet, weakening team's cars. Ludlow makes Pac-Man follow him but gets his car destroyed. Ludlow could have been eaten too if there was no Eddie driving towards an alien and killing him. When his last life remained, Eddie speeds up but accidentally falls into the water, leaving Sam the only one to take Pac-Man down. Sam knew that Pac-Man was coming to the another power pellet and had come off with a plan how to defeat him. After getting affected by the pellet, he tricks Pac-Man to go into the garage and jump out of the window, spending his 10 seconds on it to finally defeat an alien.
Later on while the heroes were celebrating their second victory, the aliens explained that it was revealed that someone cheated and the contest for the planet has been forfeited which makes Pac-Man win by default.
