| ~ Sonic on Pachacamac. |
Pachacamac is the overarching antagonist of Paramount Pictures' Sonic Cinematic Universe.
He was originally the antagonistic leader of the Echidna Tribe who wanted to capture Sonic at all costs to gain his power and find the Master Emerald. He and his tribe were also the reason why Sonic had to hide on Earth and responsible for killing Longclaw, but seemingly died in the process. Despite these actions, the miniseries, Knuckles, shows us that he has mellowed out as a spirit, having given up on the pursuit of power. He's also a good mentor to Knuckles and Wade Whipple.
He is voiced and motion-captured by Christopher Lloyd, who also played Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Grigori Rasputin in Anastasia, The Hacker in Cyberchase, Merlock in DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp, Lord Imaru in The Secret Treasure of Machu Picchu, Kruge in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Master Xehanort in Kingdom Hearts, Helgait in The Mandalorian, Dr. Heep in Baby Geniuses, Professor Plum in Clue, Bill Crowley in I Am Not a Serial Killer, Switchblade Sam in Dennis the Menace, Stan Cruge in Santa Buddies, and Mr. Clipboard in Foodfight!.
Physical appearance[]
Pachacamac is an anthropomorphic echidna with purple eyes and reddish-brown fur. He has thick white fur on his eyebrows and upper muzzle, giving the appearance of a mustache. In combat, he wore a leather tunic with a cape and gloves made with rag strips. He also wore a tribal mask that appears to be made of either wood or bone, with orange feathers attached to it and white decorations that take the shape of thick eyebrows.
When he first appears to Knuckles in "The Warrior" he wears a gold necklace adorned with teal feathers. He wears a waist cloth embroidered with orange stripes forming various shapes. His left arm has a cloth bandage wrapped around near his elbow. Both hands also have a cloth bandage wrapped around them as well. Both his wrists and ankles are adorned with a gold and green bracelet. For footwear, he wears socks and leather sandals.
When he appears to Wade in the episode, "The Flames of Disaster", he changes into a Neon Nightz Uniform to make Wade feel more comfortable.
Biography[]
Past[]
Before the main events of the film series, Sonic was still living with his caretaker/first adoptive mother, Longclaw. Pachacamac and the tribe knew Sonic's existence, and they were secretly tracking him down through the woods for unknown reasons, presumably to gain his power.
Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)[]
After Sonic got back home, he and Longclaw are attacked and chased by the tribe. While trying to escape, Longclaw is shot in the back by Pachacamac. As Pachacamac and the tribe continue to chase after them, Longclaw uses a Ring to open up a portal to another world, warning Sonic to never stop running. Once Sonic enters through the Ring to Earth, he sees Longclaw, who was about to fight against the Tribe. He tries to go back to her, but the Ring closes.
Apparently, both the Echidna Tribe and Longclaw died, and Pachacamac became a ghost.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022)
When Knuckles tells Sonic that he lost everything during the Echidna Attack, the latter tells him that they both lost everything that day. And then, a flashback shows Pachacamac and the Echidna Warriors attacking Sonic and Longclaw. Just like the in the first film, Pachacamac is last seen getting ready to attack Longclaw again, while the latter says goodbye to Sonic.
Knuckles (2024)[]
After Knuckles gets grounded by Maddie for wrecking her house while attempting to relax, Knuckles attempts to summon the ancient Echidna Warriors. From doing so, he summons the spirit of Pachacamac. Afterwards, Pachacamac tells Knuckles to help Wade Whipple win a bowling tournament, as his quest is "far from over".

Trivia[]
- Pachacamac's origin was changed drastically from the video games. In the video games, he appears long before Sonic himself was alive, and is the ancestor of Knuckles, who was ultimately killed by Chaos alongside the entire Echidna clan for trying to steal the power of the Chaos emeralds and hurting his friends the Chao in the process. In the films, he and the Echidna tribe are still active when Sonic was an infant, and are instead trying to steal his power.
- It's currently unknown if this version of Pachacamac has Tikal, who was his daughter from the games.
- Unlike in the games, this version of Pachacamac currently doesn't have any known connection to Angel Island (though the island appeared in an early draft for the sequel). He also goes through a redemption, having become a wise and humble mentor figure of Knuckles who has given up his desires for power.
- Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is the only film where Pachacamac wasn't seen or mentioned.
