The Painting Monster is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Minerva’s Mother) of The Haunting Hour “The Girl In The Painting”.
It is a reptile lizard like monster who lives in the painting world.

The origins of the reptile creature are unknown but at some point when Minerva and her mother moved into their house, it forced both of them to feed it unless they be eaten themselves. Thus Minerva lured unsuspecting people from the real world envious of her rich and seemingly perfect life into the painting. Once inside, the creature would come at 6:00 pm, "feeding time", Minerva would open a panel in the ceiling and the creature would devour the victim temporarily satiating it's voracious appetite until the next victim came.
The Girl In The Painting[]
The Painting Monster is first seen watching Becky leaving left her room through the painting while being suspisocus of Minerva.
When Minerva succeeded in luring Becky into her world, the monster came at feeding time, briefly seen walking by her bedroom window. Upon seeing monster when Minerva opened her ceiling, Becky screamed in terror as she was quickly eaten. The monster then walked (or possibly flew) away, to inevitably return for the next meal.

- It is the reason that Minerva and her mother feed people to it in order to avoid being eaten by the monster.
