~ Palparepa's villainous breakdown. |
Palparepa is a major antagonist in the anime GaoGaiGar Final. He is a member of the 11 Planetary Masters of Sol, and is the group's counterpart to Guy Shishioh. Palparepa is a believer in the idea of social darwinism, to the extreme point of believing that being weak is a trait that is inherently evil. He is the pilot of possible super mechanoid Palparepa PLUS, which is later transformed into Palparepa Prajna to fight Guy.
He is voiced by the late Kiyoyuki Yanada, who also voiced General Rilldo in Dragon Ball GT, Thymilph in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Megatron in Transformers: Armada, Archduke Gorgon in Shin Mazinger Z: The Impact, and Grunbeld in the 2016 Berserk anime.
Personality[]
Palparepa is a firm believer of "might makes right" and has a serious god complex, calling himself a god for serval times throughout the series and comparing those he sees as weak to demons. Much like Palus Abel, Palparepa doesn't play fair and is not above releasing chemicals to pacify the human members of GGG and is willing to kill Guy when he is still in his GaoFar due to being unable to perform final fusion or rewriting the program of Repli-Mamoru to complete his goal. Palparepa has no qualms with manipulating people to bring harm to others, even sicing a brainwashed Guy against Soldato-J.
Despite his cruelty, Palparepa doesn't go back on his might-makes-right values, as he calmly accepted his fate when Pisa Sol is destroyed.
Biography[]
Palparepa is a member of the 11 Planetary Masters of Sol who started their actions on using the Pas-Q Machine to absorb the dark matter of the universe in order to rebuild the Trinary Systems, uncaring of how this would cause the collapse of the other universe. However, the Planetary Masters' plan would be found out by Mamoru Amami, who stole the Q-Parts from the machine to stop them after Mamoru created a replica of himself to fight the Planetary Masters while Mamoru himself escaped with the Q-Parts to Jupiter. After the Q-Parts scattered across Earth, Palparepa reprogrammed the captured replica to send it to retrieve the Q-Parts.
After Kaidou killed the replica, Palparepa appeared in front of Guy, stealing the Q-Parts and telling GGG that he would destroy them if they dared to get in his way. Guy tried to attack Palparepa, but the Planetary Master wrapped Guy up with a bandage to immobilize him. After Pillnus defeated Renais, Palparepa returned to the Planetary Masters' home system with the Q-Parts and reactivated the Pas-Q Machine.
Later, on Repli-Earth, he released the Paras Particles, chemicals that made the GGG member lose their wills to fight and relax instead of staying at high alert, thus allowing Pia Decem and Pillnus to sneak into the base. Meanwhile, Palparepa purposely let Guy Shishioh track him down so he could lure him to a trap where he would be surrounded by the other Planetary Masters. After Palus Abel explained their plans to him, Guy challenged Palparepa to a fight. He used Chemical Fusion to pilot the mecha Palparepa PLUS, but Guy, despite being able to pilot the GaoFar, was unable to form GaoFighGar with Final Fusion due to the Paras Particles incapacitating everyone at GGG. However, Mamoru was able to resist it and pressed the button that triggered Final Fusion. Guy then engaged Palparepa in GaoFighGar. Palparepa attacked Guy with the technique God and Devil while Guy countered it with Hell and Heaven, only for Palparepa to overtake him, assisted by Pei la Cain, who distracted Guy with a hallucination. While Guy managed to resist the hallucination and struck Palparepa with GaoFighGar's drill knee, the GaoFighGar was still destroyed by Palparepa, who then captured and brainwashed Guy with the Chemical Bolts.
Later, when Soldato J, Renais, Mikoto and Mamoru escaped to space in the King J-Der while being chased by Palus Abel, Pillnus and Pia Decem, Palparepa revealed the replicated version of the Brave robots and the Plier Robos together with a brainwashed Guy in the replicated version of GaoFighGar, ordering them to destroy the King J-Der. Guy then attacked them with the Goldion Hammer, but the replicated Brave robots managed to break free from Palparepa's control and sacrificed themselves to save King J-Der. Palparepa then commented as their A.I. being "too perfect", but then claiming that Guy's brainwashing couldn't be undone. In the end, the Goldion Hammer self-destructed while Mikoto and Mamoru purified Guy as the duo then headed to the G-Crystal on the Repli-Moon, where the Mecha-Lion Galeon was located. However, they were tracked down by Palparepa along with serval Planetary Masters, who tried to stop Mamoru from awakening Galeon in the G-Crystal, using cubic structures to fire Sol Wave to attempt to shatter the G-Crystal. Thus, Palparepa ordered Pei La Cain to claim Galeon for himself. However, Galeon was able to tell that Guy, who is freed from the brainwashing, is more worthy to be its pilot and rejected Cain, to which Palparepa commented that his fate of clashing with Guy is inevitable. Guy then piloted the GaiGar and is able to destroy some of the cubes that fire Sol Wave.
Seeing this, Abel ordered Palparepa to concentrate the Sol Wave on GaiGar, immobilizing Guy. Abel then had Palparepa to carry out Chemical Fusion and becomes Palparepa PLUS, but, before Palparepa could finish Guy off, Mikoto smashed the button for Genesic Fusion, allowing GaiGar to become Genesic GaoGaiGar while reflecting Palparepa's Sol Wave, much to the Planetary Master's shock.
Enraged, Palparepa pushed Guy back to Repli-Japan, fighting him in Shinjuku. During the battle, Palparepa used his own Doping Cylinders to upgrade his mech into Palparepa Prajna as they started a final decisive battle, but this time, Guy was able to overpower Palparepa and defeated him.
However, Palparepa was regenerated by Pisa Sol and injected Guy with nanomachines, infecting him and wounding him badly. Seemingly having already won, Palparepa mocked Guy of the GGG Mobile Unit's defeat and smashed Guy and his Genesic GaoGaiGar with the God and Devil technique.
Despite of his injuries, Guy still insists to fight, and after being encouraged by an illusion of Mikoto to believe in courage, Guy managed to send the nanomachine back to Palparepa himself and started beating Palparepa Prajina up, even overpowering his regeneration ability. As Palparepa was keep being beat up, Guy pointed out that the reason why Palparepa and the Planetary Masters fight the GGG as indirectly as possible is because they feared the power of G-Stone, something directly empowered by courage and the will to fight. Palparepa angrily replied to Guy, "What has a god to fear?". Then, Guy used the Genesic Hell and Heaven on the badly beaten-up Palparepa Prajna, finally destroying the mechanoid. As a last ditch effort, Palparepa jumped out of his mech and impaled Guy with his knife, however, at the same time Guy punched Palparepa's core, the Loud G-Stone in his eye socket. Guy then pulled the Loud G-Stone out, destroying Palparepa,
However, Abel ordered Pisa Sol to mass replicate the destroyed Planetary Masters. Thus an army of Palparepa Prajnas surrounded Guy as Palparepa gloated that Pisa Sol had the power of a god. Before Palparepa can finish Guy off, Guy was informed that Pisa Sol and the Pas-Q machine ceased function for a while due to exhaustion from replicating the Planetary Masters, and used Bolting Driver to destroy several Palparepa Prinja as he connected to GGG's ultimate weapon, the Goldion Crusher. Guy then rushed to Pisa Sol, with a few copies of Palparepa attempting to stop him, only to be all turned into light by the power of the Goldion Crusher. Then, Guy used the Goldion Crusher to destroy the Pas-Q machine along with Pisa Sol, causing all of the replicants to fade from existence. Palparepa, having realized that they had lost, calmly uttered that such is the law of the material world as he faded away, along with the other Planetary Masters
