Biography[]
Pamela Black was hired by Oliver Queen to develop a drug called RL65 which was capable of rapidly healing those who used it. Oliver wanted to use the drug to have an advantage in his crime-fighting career as the Green Arrow.
Motivated by greed, Dr. Black mass-produced the serum. However, the drug had side-effects of increasing its user's aggressive tendencies. Oliver paid a visit to Pamela's lab who told him she was through with the project because the results were dangerous as test mice showed adverse side-effects of aggression.
He countered that he was paying her, so she was not allowed to quit. Doctor Black again warned Oliver to stop using it, but Oliver was unconcerned and took a batch of serum vials with him. Lex Luthor later also paid Black to continue development of the drug and visited her lab too. But after seeing firsthand how Oliver was being affected, Dr. Black decided to discontinue it and destroyed the remaining samples.
Lex told Pamela he couldn't let her do that before he killed her. Oliver, as well as Clark Kent and Chloe Sullivan later found Dr. Black's body amidst the ruins of her destroyed laboratory with several arrows left behind.
Chloe believed the Green Arrow killed Dr. Black due to the evidence but Clark didn't want to believe this. Oliver speculated that Lex had her killed for her refusal to produce more serum. The Metropolis Police Department later arrested a kid from the halfway house for her murder, though Clark suspected Lex was really behind it.
