Pantalone, also known by his codename Regrator, is a major antagonist in the 2020 action role-playing fantasy video game Genshin Impact, serving as the unseen overarching antagonist of "Umbrabilis Orchis Chapter: Act I - Calculated Gambit."
Pantalone was the Ninth of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, a group of influential and powerful individuals who acted as the chief lieutenants of the Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya. Codenamed "Regrator," he was enamoured with wealth and served as the economics overseer for Snezhnaya and the Fatui.
Pantalone is voiced by Min Xu in Chinese and by J. Michael Tatum in English. Tatum has also voiced Erwin Smith in Attack on Titan, Tenya Iida in My Hero Academia, Acnologia in Fairy Tail, Sebastian Michaelis in Black Butler, Rintarou Okabe in Steins;Gate, Fuegoloen Vermillion in Black Clover, and Hector in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World.

Pantalone was once a poor man who never received a Vision or any other kind of blessing from the Gods of Celestia despite his firm ambitions. Overtime he built a vast fortune and accumulated power by his own merit, partially as a way to spurn the Gods who had neglected him. Eventually he was approached by the Fatui, the military faction led by the Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya that governed the nation Snezhnaya. The plan of the Tsaritsa and the Fatui was to overthrow the Gods and impose a new societal structure on Teyvat. Agreeing with their plans for Teyvat, Pantalone joined the Fatui and became the Ninth of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. He worked closely with Il Dottore, the Second of the Fatui Harbingers, to the point that they could be considered partners.

Regrator sought to test the possible viability of a currency uninfluenced by the gods. To that end, he decided to introduce a new currency into an isolated civilization and see what sort of micro-economy would form. Pantalone settled on the Fortress of Meropide, a large underwater prison located in the Nation of Fontaine, as the ideal location for his experiment. He revealed his idea to a higher-up, who agreed to fund the project. In lieu of the research grant being given to him, Regrator decided to call the new currency the "Credit Coupon." He had his agents implement the Credit Coupon, and it soon became the prison's exclusive currency.
Eventually, the Nation of Freedom Mondstadt, which was under the purview of the absentee Anemo Archon Barbatos, became terrorized by a dragon the locals called "Stormterror." Having sought a reason to strengthen their operations in Mondstadt, the Fatui sent a large force into the nation under the pretext of aiding the local Knights of Favonius in defeating the dragon. After the Fatui stationed in Mondstadt found their accommodations lacking, Pantalone paid an exceedingly generous amount of mora to Ludwig Goth, the owner of the luxurious Goth Grand Hotel, to allow the Fatui to have exclusive access to the hotel indefinitely.
Around the same time, Regrator tasked an agent of his called Landa with posing as a wine merchant and infiltrating Mondstadt with his family. Pantalone's desire was for Landa to sabotage the wine business of Mondstadt, which was one of its key industries, thereby destabilising the nation and allowing Snezhnaya to grow more wealthy by filling the void left in the market with its own wines. However, before Landa could complete his objective he became suspicious that an Apprentice Knight of Favonius named Noelle had discovered his plan. Fearing exposure, Landa abandoned his assigned mission and fled Mondstadt.
Regrator also began overseeing Fatui operations in Liyue, an ancient nation governed by the Geo Archon Morax where trade prospered and all of Teyvat's currency was minted. At some point one of Pantalone's secret trade routes in Liyue, which was transporting an exceptionally valuable coat made from the fur of an ancient mystical beast that Regrator intended to gift to the Tsaritsa, was attacked by Yelan. Yelan, who was a cunning agent of Liyue's Ministry of Civil Affairs, had lost a sentimental item of hers in an operation against Regrator's Fatui forces and as such took the coat from the convoy as a form of recompense.

Regrator, alongside the other Harbingers, gathered in a cathedral in Snezhnaya for the funeral of La Signora, the Eighth Fatui Harbinger, who had been executed by the Electro Archon Beelzebul during a failed Fatui plot in the nation of Inazuma. Pulcinella, the Fifth Harbinger, proclaimed that all work in Snezhnaya would be halted for half a day in commemoration of their comrade, which prompted Pantalone to point out that half a day seemed a superficially low amount of time. Pierro, the Director of the Fatui, proceeded to silence the gathered Harbingers and made a speech in Signora's memory as her coffin was encased in ice.

Sometime after Signora's death, Pantalone began orchestrating a plot to increase the influence of the Fatui in Liyue by placing a mole on the Liyue Qixing, the committee of powerful merchants responsible for governing the nation. Regrator tasked the Fatui Ambassador to Liyue, named Yusupov, with choosing a suitable mole and supporting their rise to power from behind-the-scenes in any way possible. The chosen mole in question was an ambitious Liyue man named Zhiyi, who was one of three candidates to replace an elderly member of the Qixing known as "Uncle" Tian. Yusupov began secretly supporting Zhiyi's bid for power.
Under the Fatui's influence, Zhiyi began periodically poisoning Uncle Tian's meals to deteriorate the old man's health. However, Zhiyi ultimately betrayed Yusupov by poisoning him to death once his victory was more-or-less assured. Yelan, with the help of a heroic Traveler who had foiled several Fatui plots around Teyvat, was able to uncover Zhiyi's treachery and have him arrested. She made arrangements to have Yusupov's right-hand Theofan arrested as well, in the hopes that he would provide evidence of a greater Fatui conspiracy. However, Regrator predicted her move and had Theofan extracted from Liyue before he could be apprehended.

- Political Influence: As one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, Pantalone was bequeathed with nigh-unlimited executive authority by the Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya. With the political and economical power invested in him, Regrator could call upon almost any resource in furtherance of the goal of the Fatui. He could command the authority of any Fatuus who weren't themselves Harbingers, and presumably wielded unquestionable authority in Snezhnaya. Additionally, his official position as a Snezhnayan diplomat meant that he couldn't be prosecuted in foreign nations without significant political tension being caused.

- Delusion: A Delusion was a device similar in nature to a Vision, allowing its user to channel elemental energy. Unlike a Vision, however, Delusions weren't bequeathed onto mortals by the gods of Celestia but instead manufactured by the hands of mortals. Created by the Fatui to aid them in their goals, Delusions were personally granted by the Tsaritsa to her loyal subjects; few outside the Eleven Fatui Harbingers were privileged enough to receive a Delusion. Although more powerful than Visions, Delusions were more volatile and gradually drained the lifeforce of its wielder.

- Like the other Fatui Harbingers, Pantalone's name was derived from a stock character in commedia dell'arte, a form of traditional Italian pantomime theater characterized by its masked characters and representation of fixed social types. In commedia dell'arte, Pantalone was a wealthy man who frequently used his high standing in the social hierarchy to bully others and interfere with their business. He is typically characterized as a fool, and is sometimes portrayed to be La Signora's husband.
