Papu Papu is the first ever boss in Crash Bandicoot video game series. He is a very large tribe leader who commands the native tribe on N. Sanity Island. He also appears in games such as Crash Bash, Crash Team Racing and Crash Twinsanity. He is considered a neutral character, who's completely unconcerned with the events of the series.
History
Crash Bandicoot
Papu Papu first appears as the game's first boss. He tries to harm Crash by swinging around his staff, but is easily defeated after being attacked from behind once too many times.
Crash Twinsanity
Papu Papu and his tribesmen appear after the first "Doc Amok" segment, at N. Sanity Island. He orders his men to capture Dr. Neo Cortex and returns to his hut where Crash can finds him sleeping. After Crash saves Cortex at the islands tribal village, Papu orders his tribesmen to eliminate Crash.
Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy
Papu Papu again serves as the first boss in the remastered Crash Bandicoot. However, he now has more heath and Crash uses Papu Papu's stomach to bounce through the ceiling after the villain's defeat.

Papu Papu is the games second boss racer and can be unlocked as a playable racer by winning the Green Gem Cup.
Crash Bash
Papu Papu appears in Crash Bash as the game's first boss. He uses his strength to flip over floor tiles and is able to summon Crash clones to aid him in battle. Once his heath is low, Papu Papu is crushed by a large stone structure.
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled
Papu Papu returns in the remaster for Crash Team Racing serving the same role he had in the original game. He is classed as an advanced driver.

- The reason that Crash can't jump on Papu Papu from the front in Crash Bandicoot is because he'll bounce off Papu Papu's jiggly belly and take damage. Papu Papu's girth and appetite has earned him much admiration and respect from his peers. In Crash Twinsanity, Papu Papu can be seen performing a belly wave for his fellow tribesmen who applauded in approval.
- Papu Papu's name, when translated from his native language, means "Pass the dish again, mate". Referencing his big appetite.
