The Parade Master is a minor antagonist in the 2023 video game Lies of P. It was an advanced puppet designed for the Grand Exhibition in Krat, but the outbreak of the Puppet Frenzy at its big reveal lead it to slaughter its audience, before becoming a devout follower of the Puppet King.
Biography[]
The Parade Master[]
The Parade Master was a puppet specially built by the Workshop to celebrate the Grand Exhibition. He had many features, from the ability to sing sixteen songs and repeat fifty four parade phrases to the strength to carry six men on his shoulders. However, on the day of the Exhibition, Giuseppe Geppetto began the Puppet Frenzy, leading to the Parade Master beating the crowd into a bloody pulp. It eventually broke free of the Grand Covenant, coming into contact with Romeo, the King of Puppets. Believing the show must go on, it joined him, and was sent as a messenger to try and convince P to join the puppets in their crusade against Geppetto, the Petrification Disease and the Alchemists.
The Parade Master made its way to Krat Central Station Square, where it confronted a newly awakened P. It attempted to get through to him, but the language barrier between them and the Parade Master's rather violent tendencies prevented them reaching an understanding. The two fought and as P overwhelmed him and he grew angrier, he tore his own head off, using the metal Top Hat on his head to hold it like a club. He was ultimately defeated, remarking how P could have been a great help to the puppets.
Corrupted Parade Master[]
As his body sat there, it was infested by the Petrification Disease, reanimating it and forming a growth where his head had been, fit with tentacles and a maw of sharp teeth. As P returned to Hotel Krat after hearing it was under attack from the Black Rabbit Brotherhood, he was met with the Corrupted Parade Master, which attempted to kill him with everything in its power, utilizing the Parade Master's head as a club once more and creating creatures to aid it during the fight. The monster was eventually destroyed, and P made his way back to the Hotel.

Trivia[]
- The Parade Master is a reference to Mangiafoco, the director of the Great Marionette Theater, in the original The Adventures of Pinocchio, much like his fellow messenger, Fuoco.
- The Parade Master references an unknown "toy land" and a carriage to take P away in his fight with him, a reference to the Land of Toys, where children are taken by the Coachman to be turned into donkeys.
- Fittingly, the next major opponent P faces is Mad Donkey, who has Geppetto cornered in a carriage.
