Rudolph "Rudy" Jones, more commonly referred to as Parasite, was a minor antagonist in season 8 of the television season Smallville.
Parasite is a misguided meta-human teen able to steal the powers of other people through physical contact. He was a member of Tess Mercer's Injustice League who joined forces with Plastique to exact vengeance on Tess for betraying them.
He was portrayed by Brendan Fletcher, who also played Bill Williamson in the Rampage series, Stanley Dover in Arrow, Robert in the HBO The Last of Us adaptation, Krampus in Violent Night, Thaddeus Killgrave in Superman & Lois and Eric Fraser in Cardinal.
History[]
In the episode "Injustice", Parasite appears with Livewire, Neutron, and Plastique to form into a team of meteor freaks hired by Tess Mercer to search for Davis Bloome.
After Doomsday killed Neutron and Mercer kills Livewire, Plastique and Rudy decided to go rogue. After taking Clark Kent's powers, they almost killed Tess, until Green Arrow appeared and weakens Jones with a Kryptonite ring. The Parasite is forced to return Clark's powers, and both the former and Plastique are returned to jail.
Trivia[]
- When Rudy stole someone's abilities, an image of a transparent purple figure exit his body and enter his victim's. This is a reference to his comic book counterpart, who is a purple monster.
- Rudy's real name was never spoken on screen, but it was seen on a computer screen from Isis Foundation.
- The first metahuman to absorb all of Clark's powers in Smallville was Eric Summers.
