The Party Beach Monsters are the main antagonist of the 1964 horror movie The Horror of Party Beach.
They are radioactive amphibian type monsters, possibly inspired by the Gill-man.
Biography[]
The monsters of Party Beach were created when a barrel of radioactive waste was dumped into the ocean near a small East Coast town. The toxic material seeped into a sunken ship and a nearby human skeleton, mutating the remains into an aquatic, humanoid creature. The first monster emerged from the water during a beach party and began its killing spree by attacking Tina, whose body later washed ashore in a bloody state. Soon, more creatures appeared, presumably formed through the same radioactive contamination, and together they spread terror along the coastline.
The monsters proved to be extremely dangerous, slaughtering over twenty girls at a slumber party, murdering travelers, and attacking anyone unfortunate enough to cross their path. Their biology was unusual, with tissue resembling that of sea anemones or protozoa, which allowed even severed limbs to remain alive. They were resistant to conventional attacks, and their trail of radioactive water frustrated attempts to track them. Their preferred method of killing was brutal and direct, leaving behind mutilated victims.
Despite their strength and resilience, the creatures possessed a fatal weakness. When metallic sodium accidentally came into contact with one of their severed limbs, it caused a violent reaction that destroyed the tissue. Dr. Gavin and Hank Green exploited this discovery, using sodium as a weapon to fight the monsters. After several violent encounters, the police and Hank managed to wipe out the remaining creatures with a large supply of sodium, ending the reign of terror.
