Pasder, officially designated EI-01 (Extraterrestrial Intelligence 01), is the main antagonist of the first half of the 1997 anime The King of Braves GaoGaiGar, though his plots reach through to the end of the series. He is the leader of the Zonderian advance force attempting to conquer and mechanize the planet Earth.
In the Japanese dub, Pasder was voiced by Kenichi Ogata, who also voiced the Great General of Darkness in Great Mazinger, King Dedede in Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, and Poseidon in the Japanese dub of God of War III.
Personality[]
Pasder is a being of little positivity, being full of hatred, disregard for life, and an affinity for striking his enemies with fear and despair. He refers to Galeon as a machine of destruction, curses humanity for its weakness, and wishes to show terror to his enemies before he kills them. In his final plan, he attempts to take the city of Tokyo into space, an act that would certainly kill the city's entire population. In the last stand between him and the Mobile Unit, he expresses that he will utterly crush their hope to defeat him, and refers to the deployment of Projectile-X as a pointless measure.
If outmatched, Pasder reverts to a state of unbridled fury and desperation. When the Mobile Unit is empowered by Projectile-X, he almost entirely stops talking, mostly vocalizing grunts, screams, and roars.
History[]
Pasder's background is only elaborated on to a point two years prior to the start of the series, in the year 2003. He traveled to Earth in the form of a huge spacecraft, EI-01, to mount an operation to mechanize it, ramming into a space shuttle and severely injuring Guy Shishiou. After being struck by Galeon as he approached the planet, he crashed in the city of Tokyo, causing a house fire that resulted in the death of Mikoto Utsugi's parents, and infecting Utsugi with the New Machine Species, an experimental derivative of Zonder biology.
After landing in Tokyo, he moved himself beneath Tokyo Tower, and spent the next two years slowly incorporating vehicles and infrastructure from the city into himself. When his lair was discovered by Kinzou Kodakarayama in 2005, he had his direct subordinates, the Four Machine Kings, infect him with Zonder Metal, transforming him into EI-02.
In the following months, Pasder and his Four Machine Kings expended the reserve of Zonder Metal in their possession, having their plans to develop a Zonder Robo to the point of cultivating a Zonder Metal Plant to mechanize the planet Earth stopped by the Gutsy Geoid Guard each time. After the last of the Zonder Metal was consumed in creating EI-25, Pasder ordered the Four Machine Kings to become Zonder Robos and cover Tokyo in the Contra Fall to ensure that a Zonder Metal Plant would develop in the city uninhibited.
After the defeat of the Four Machine Kings, Mamoru Amami entered the depths of Pasder's lair. Pasder trapped Mamoru in a bubble of Zonder Metal energy to prevent his interference, and he was able to subdue and bind Galeon and Guy. He attempted to impale Guy, but his attack was blocked by Pizza, one of the two Four Machine Kings who actually survived the fight against the Mobile Unit. Pizza performed a final strike against Pasder, causing him to break his concentration, freeing Mamoru, Guy, and Galeon. Mamoru, Guy, Galeon, and Volfogg, who had been thought slain in the battle against another of the Four Machine Kings, Pinchernone, the other of the four to survive the Mobile Unit's battle, escaped Pasder's lair as he began his next plan.
Pasder had been raising the city of Tokyo from the ground during the Contra Fall operation, and as it began to take to the skies, Pasder grew a huge body from the ground, powered by a massive amount of energy from the city, enhancing his Zonder abilities. Pasder assumed a demonic appearance, and assumed the designation EI-01 due to utilizing the spacecraft he traveled to Earth in. With the full extent of his capabilities, EI-01 utterly trounced the GGG Mobile Unit in combat, using his Zonder Metal powers to suppress their GS-Rides. By levitating tiny fragments of aluminum and calculating angles with all of Tokyo's computers, he shot out lasers that would always strike their targets in the backs.
When Projectile-X was sent to the Mobile Unit, EI-01 attempted to destroy it, although his advance was blocked by Mic Sounders the 13th and the Triple-Decked Flying Carrier under the control of Liger Shishiou. EI-01 shot down Mic Sounders and the Flying Carrier, but was unable to stop GaoGaiGar, ChoRyuJin, Goldymarg, and Big Volfogg from having their GS-Rides supercharged by Projectile-X. GaoGaiGar and Big Volfogg broke through EI-01's prior unscathed Barrier System with ease, and the Mobile Unit immediately assumed the upper hand, beginning to brutally beat EI-01, their extreme G-Stone energy nullifying EI-01's Zonder Metal power.
While EI-01 was unable to compete against the Mobile Unit with Projectile-X on their side, his core would need to be located in order to finish him off. Guy Shishiou recalled breaking off a piece of his weapon, the Will Knife, in Pasder's lair, and the shard was near the core. After locating the shard, Guy connected GaoGaiGar and Goldymarg to perform their finishing move, the Goldion Hammer, on EI-01. EI-01 raised his arm and put up his Barrier System to block the Goldion Hammer, even cracking the hammer open, but his focus was broken by the Mobile Unit attacking his body and his arm began to crack open, his body soon annihilated by the Goldion Hammer.
A portion of EI-01's core somehow survived the Goldion Hammer, and he escaped into space, calling to Earth the 31 Machine Primevals, a higher order of fighting force for the Zonders. This portion was consumed by the commander of the Primevals, Pagliaccio, and the data on GGG was absorbed into Pagliaccio, who commanded the Primevals in their attempts to either mechanize Earth or to destroy all life on it.
Numerous Primevals were defeated and purified into Z-Crystals by GGG, so Pagliaccio and ZX-07, a leader among the Primevals, mounted operations in the orbit of Jupiter, incorporating Primevals into the planet's moon. In the battle between GGG aided by the J-Ark and the Primevals at Jupiter, the purified Z-Crystals were retrieved. Pagliaccio and Pasder combined themselves into ZX-31, the Heart Primeval, and with all of the Primevals assembled, they became the Z-Master, a program in control of all Zonder Metal in the universe.
While the Z-Master was unable to be directly fought due to directly channeling THE POWER from the planet Jupiter, the Mobile Unit and the J-Ark entered its body through the hair linking it to the planet, ultimately reaching the heart. ZX-31 attacked GGG with its blood vessels, but it was destroyed by King J-Der through overloading it with THE POWER, causing the destruction of the Z-Master and all Zonder Metal in existence.
While Pasder had been utterly destroyed by King J-Der, one of his plans had not been noticed and had continued. The New Machine Species dormant inside of Mikoto Utsugi developed a month after the defeat of the Z-Master, transforming her into the invincible Zonuda, who, rather than mechanizing the entire universe, had the power to completely destroy it. However, this plan failed as well, as the anguish Mikoto felt at the battle occurring between Zonuda and GaoGaiGar left her vulnerable, and ultimately Zonuda was purified by Guy Shishiou.
