The Pastmaster is a recurring villain from the Hannah-Barbera cartoon series SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron. A diminutive undead cat, he is a powerful sorcerer with an enchanted pocket watch that allows him to control the flow of time.

Pastmaster was voiced by the late Keene Curtis who also played Grand Moff Tarkin in the Radio adaptation of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

History

In ancient times, Pastmaster attempted to usurp the throne and marry the local queen, Callista, who didn't return his affections. Eventually he was sealed away in a graveyard, until he was unearthed by graverobbers several millennia later. After which, Pastmaster attacked the SWAT Kats and Megakat City on multiple occasions through use of his enchanted pocket watch capable of opening portals through time.

One of which, had Pastmaster sent the SWAT Kats to the future as part of a deal with the Metallikats. Instead of being partners, the robotic criminals double crossed the sorcerer and stole Pastmaster's watch and took over Megakat City, renaming it Metallikats City. Desperate, Pastmaster would team up with the SWAT Kats to get his watch back and get back at Mack and Molly. While successfully, Pastmaster wanted to leave the SWAT Kats in the future, in hopes of never seeing them again. This would backfire as the TurboKat would be able to get through the portal in time.

Pastmaster's final appearance was when he raised an army of gigantic mummies of Katchu Pichu to attack the city. During the attack, Pastmaster noticed Deputy Mayor Callie, and how similar she was to Callista. Believing the Deputy Mayor to be a prison for his lost love, Pastmaster attempted to perform a ritual which would awaken Callista. However, the SWAT Kats, with help from the robot Cybertron, are able to rescue Callie while causing the pyramid to collapse, seemingly causing the end of the Pastmaster.
