Biography[]
Pastor Jerry Boyd is the leader of a fundamentalist Anti-LGBT hate group called West Dell Bible Church. He lives with his wife Martha and son named Chris. Pastor Boyd and his family move next door to a homosexual couple, Trey and Robbie, in the suburbs. After Chris sees Trey and Robbie kiss, he tells Robbie that he is going to hell and that homosexuality is a sin. At night, while Trey is out walking their Boston terrier, Pastor Boyd beats Trey with a baseball bat before leaving him for dead. Trey falls into a coma, rushed to a hospital, and later dies of a brain hemorrhage.
Robbie suspects Chris killed Trey as Chris made homophobic remarks to him as well as having a past arrest for an Anti-LGBT hate crime. After punching Chris, a restraining order is made against Robbie. Looking for answers, Robbie sneaks into Chris's home and finds homosexual pornography saved on his computer. Pastor Boyd is given pictures of Chris with another man at an adult store and tells Chris that he killed Trey in an attempt to end homosexuality as he views it as a sin. Robbie overhears, records their conversation, and gives it to the police. The police officer, Detective Esposito, takes the tape but does not believe that Pastor Boyd meant anything on the tape. Robbie, Trey's mother Kathleen, and neighbor Barbara later come up with a plan of killing Pastor Boyd and carry it out that night, by taking him to Robbie's house and shooting him in the head after he quotes Leviticus 20:13, avenging Trey's death.
